The album version is nearly nine minutes long and contains some lyrics not able to be broadcast on the radio edit due to their explicit content. After the song gained popularity in continental Europe, Pete Tong campaigned for a re-release: Cheeky/Champion chose to hold back the re-issue so it arrived in shops on the same day as the Spice Girls' "Say You'll Be There", so it would be placed in racks alongside it.[3] The song went on to top the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. The Moody Mix featured on some of the singles was also on the Reverence / Irreverence release.

 I love that you pulled out that memory! "Cars" was a favorite song of many early hip-hop artists, and later, of trip-hop pioneers like Tricky. There she goes, making connections; like Beyoncé projects of the past decade, RENAISSANCE deserves its own syllabus. (Shoutout to Candice Benbow for creating the first one!) This album is all about the details, which she drops incessantly, both in her lyrics and via the samples and sounds that form these songs. If you were to metaphorically drop the needle on a gesture that epitomizes the Beyoncé that builds universes, what would it be? I think I'd share "Heated," not only for its image of Bey compromising her manicure by tapping out beats on an Akai MPC drum machine, but for that little arch in her voice when she sings, "I gotta fend myself off," just a hint of an affected English accent. It's like she's waving her hand toward every mother who's spun and dipped her way across a Harlem ballroom.

. How did "Settle 4 U" come about?

 

Bryce Wilson:
 A good friend of mine, Chill Patterson from Chicago, who was Lupe Fiasco's manager, he called me. I had an album that was going on Columbia and I wasn't getting along with the label. I was like, y'all ain't handling your black music division that great. So I wanted out. I left, and Chris Lighty gave me a great exit and I had this album that was done that was a great album. It was actually a Groove Theory album with this other singer [than Amel Larrieux], and it was the complete opposite of what me and Amel did. I did something that was sonically way more aggressive and progressive. I had these songs and I kind of just walked away from music for a while, like I'll go to film school, I'm good on the music politics. I went to L.A., bought a house and chilled. [Then] I got a call from Chill and he was like, "I played these records for Jay Z," and I was like, cool, whatever. He hit me about a week later and said, "When can you come to New York?" and I said next week. I came in and me, Chill and Jay and Beyoncé and a couple other people, we were in the studio and we played the whole album for them. Jay was just shaking his head like, this shit is amazing. B loved the records. They had heard the album and were like, aight, we'll see y'all later, we'll see you later and get back to y'all. So we just hung out in the studio talking and Jay Z took the CD and got in their car and they drove around for an hour, hour and a half, and they called back and were like, we want these records, are you cool with that? I was like, of course. Jay said it was a done deal. They took the records.
 
It was kind of weird. I'd stopped doing music all of a sudden, and because of Chill and Jay and B, I got half of my album on a solo project. Then I get a call a week later and Jay is like, "Yo, Janet [Jackson] likes one of the records. We'll take five but are you cool with giving Janet one?" I was like, dude, we can do whatever you want to do. Jay really had his A&R hat on and was really involved in her project at the time. Then, we started getting a lot of the business in order. This was right before Jay took the job at Def Jam, and then we got a call back and her father had sold a bunch a records already, so they had paid for so many records already from Scott Storch, that it moved my records out. Jay was like, "It's not a wrap. We'll definitely take 'Hip-Hop Star,' and 'Settle 4 U' is Beyoncé's favorite record. We don't know what we're going to do with that record, because we have a certain amount that we can put on the album." So they took the records and she did the vocals and I mixed them, me and Tony Maserati, who did her whole album and is a great engineer. When Disney started its own record company, Disneyland Records, in Spring 1956, it was found to be economically unfeasible at the time to take on the fees and other costs to produce a soundtrack album.[62]

Zipline shares the fluency advantage of using a third-party sequences alternative, but with the additional benefit of not requiring a further dependency. Moreover, zipline is concise and avoids all the verbosity of implementing a custom Spliterator.


Yet, if adding a dependency to an auxiliary library such as Jayield is not an option, then zipline will be the best alternative. It is simpler and more effective to chain a map() combined with the use of an auxiliary iterator, as denoted by zipline idiom, than implementing a Spliterator based zip, which incurs in a lot of verbosity. Furthermore, that zip() cannot be chained fluently in a stream pipeline, whereas the zipline keeps the fluent nature of the query pipeline. Finally, zipline is is the second most performant solution in most part of the analysed benchmarks.


We brought to our analysis other options, namely zipline idiom and Jayield library and we also have built a zip benchmark based on a realistic data source to fairly compare all alternatives. This benchmark is available on Github and the results are publicly visible in Github Actions.

For the first time in seven years, Janet Jackson has released a new album called Unbreakable. Until the End of Time is the seventh studio album, and third posthumous release by rapper 2Pac. The album consists of material recorded while the rapper was on Death Row Records from 1995 to 1996. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 426,870 copies in its first week. This marks the first time the record has been reissued, since the original release in 2001. The package is being released in a 4LP with standard black vinyl.


2Pacalypse Now is the debut studio album by 2Pac, released on November 12, 1991 by Interscope Records. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the album is being reissued on 2LP vinyl, which marks the first time Tupac's masterpiece will be available on vinyl in the U.S. Additionally, 2Pacalypse Now is available on cassette. The 25th Anniversary edition of 2Pacalypse Now will be packaged as a double LP gatefold and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at renowned record plant, RTI. The cassette version will include the original booklet from 1992 featuring the original photos and artwork covering the inner city poet's rise.


In the strange and confusing days after Pac's death, many speculated that the 7 days in the album title stood for the time between Shakur's September 7 shooting in Las Vegas and his death on the 13th in a Vegas hospital. But Pac explained that The Don Killuminati: 7 Day Theory referred to how long it took to record the album.


A blockbuster collaboration, especially for that time. Kurupt, Daz, Meth and Red all take turns over Daz's spacious production. This track served Pac's larger war agenda for the All Eyez album. At the height of hip-hop's coastal tensions, every collabo seem to have political implications. Snoop, CNN, Mobb Deep, Ice Cube, and many others chose their sides and made it clear what team they were on.





This shit cray. Witness the undeniable proof that these two remain are hip-hop's livest verse. Both performances are full of energy and display everything you loved about each artist. Biggie's gunchat plays well against Pac's thugspeak and the whole thing is a miracle of talent manifesting live on stage. Bless whoever recorded this brief window in time when it was all good between the two MCs. It still hurts that things evolved the way they did and deprived us of the collaborative album, tour and films they might have created. Pardon the despicable pun, but it would have been MURRDAHHH.
