The "Chinese Harp" is called a Konghou (箜篌) in China, though the term can also refer to ancient Zithers. However, when many Westerners refer to a "Chinese Harp," they are often thinking of the Guzheng (古筝), which is a Chinese Zither, not a Harp. I had the pleasure of recording her performance. (original poem)

Loose threads
linked today
into a mesh
vibrating as destiny.

The air hums
with possibility,
the landscape
around me
stirs to shift.

I know the hum
of things emerging,
yet failed so many times
not to rush in
and break the pattern
weaving on the water.

In the depths,
destiny begins
to spin its chrysalis.
And I should 
stand aside,
refrain from letting 
even a single thought
disturb the wonder.

This time,
I'll leave behind
the effervescent bubble –
the chrysalis 
holding the liquid future.
No wishes,
fantasies or expectations
should disturb 
the germination
of my destiny.

I’ll move along my path
with peace of mind
and patient trust,
until one day
the butterfly fated for me 
will cross my path,
and reveal its colors.

Chrysalis - chinese vibe

I'll be recording tracks focused on life in Austria during the 1930s (Hyper-inflation) Great Depression) and 1940s (World War 2).  To do this I'll be recording conversations of my 97 year young aunt.  This story about Hasegg Castle is where my father and his two sister along with their parents lived.

Hasegg Melodies

Another track on Hasegg Castle and Mint which is now a museum.  The castle in near Innsbruck, within the nation of Austria in Europe.  My father, two aunts and grandparents grew up inside the castle when it was apartments during the Hyperinflation, Great Depression and World War Two.  I'll be recording stories form my aunt, now 97, and make songs .. in German of course.  My father played the zither, my 97 year old aunt the piano and her sister the mandoline.

I'm a 61 year old born and raised in Canada.  My parents were both Austrian (Europe).  I'm married and my wife was born and raised in Luzon, Philippines.  Since 1997 I also live in the Philippines.  I have many interests: motorcycles, ebikes and bikes, horses, agri-forestry, computers, writing, song-writing, Chinese-Donghua (and some Japanese-Anime), inventions, doing the impossible, repairing things, projects, esoteric and much more.  While many take one path in life I love exploring and the roads seldom used.

I mainly write melodies, my pieces usually consist of a lot of melodic content and are melody driven. My music is multi-instrumental, I use many different instruments.. Many of my pieces contain more notes than a Pop song, less notes than a symphony. 

I compose music in many genres: Children's, Jazz, Melodic, Ethnic, Space, Halloween, Classical, Southern/Western, Rock. My music encompasses a lot of variety, it is eclectic. All my pieces have been notated, contact me and send me your email address if you want free PDF's of particular compositions. I currently use Sibelius 7.1.3 and Noteperformer. I have been writing music since I was in Junior High School, I have some songs with lyrics, but most are instrumentals. I was in band in High School and College, and I have been a member in several choirs as well.  

Update: I have recently uploaded virtually all of the compositions I have composed since 1997. I have included playlists as part of my offerings, with compositions from many novel genres.

I am open to collaborations with members of Soundcloud.

I have many pieces that are crafted primarily using the Aeolian scale. Some examples include, "Exotic Emerald", "Starlight Vow", "Bard 2 with Violin", "An Evening in Chatham Bay" and "Sacred Turkish Fountain".
