Welcome to Solstice: The Lumi Warm Up — a mix recorded on our longest day and inspired by the atmosphere and energy of the upcoming Luminosity Beach Festival.

This set blends some of my current favourite trance tracks, including music from artists playing at Lumi this year, as well as others whose sounds perfectly capture the spirit of the event. It’s a warm-up journey through uplifting trance and tech-trance, with a few sprinkles of progressive and techno along the way.

Whether you’re joining the madness in Zandvoort next week, or just tuning in from afar, I hope this mix brings some of that sunshine and anticipation your way.

[ENGLISH] Another gem uncovered from the old Psy Nation archives — this time, straight from 2010!

Recorded on June 14th, 2010, this set is a tribute to German producer Hannes Klita, the mind behind Vaishiyas — a key reference in the European progressive trance scene and founder of the legendary Spin Twist Records.

Vaishiyas was never a huge name in Brazil, but back then, his groovy, polished and elegant sound was at the peak of its powers across Europe — and it resonated here too, especially within the Psy Nation community. Originally released as The Best Of Vaishiyas, this set saw plenty of downloads and reached far.

Now, it brings together 12 tracks that truly represent Vaishiyas’ sonic identity — with tight basslines, clean rhythmic elements, and an aesthetic that balances pressure and sophistication. From tracks like “Wheels,” “Empty Pages,” “SL MK,” and “Hold On,” to collaborations with Audiomatic like “Sen Sen Sen” and “Exchange,” this set pays tribute to a sound that defined an era.

Gravado em 14 de junho de 2010, este set é um tributo ao produtor alemão Hannes Klita, o nome por trás do projeto Vaishiyas — referência essencial no cenário do progressive trance europeu e, claro, fundador da lendária gravadora Spin Twist Records.

Vaishiyas nunca foi um nome muito popular no Brasil, mas, naquela época, seu som progressivo, grooveado e elegante dominava pistas europeias — e também fez sucesso por aqui no Psy Nation. Lançado originalmente como The Best Of Vaishiyas, o set teve muitos downloads e se espalhou pela cena.

Aqui estão reunidas novamente 12 faixas que mostram bem o alcance e a identidade sonora do Vaishiyas — com seus graves firmes, rítmicas limpas e uma estética que equilibra pressão e sofisticação. Xavier L.-B. aka Contrapunctus is a progressive Psytrance producer and musician. A music lover from a very young age, he’s now a professional violist, playing in various groups and symphony orchestras as a classical performer, and is passionate about underground electronic music.
 
His first encounter with Psytrance, at Timeless Festival 2017, had an enormous impact on him. As a result, he decided to produce his own sound by taking classes with well-known Canadian producer Black Marvin. Contrapunctus’s music is captivating, infused with juxtaposed rhythms, evolving melodies, and soundscapes that evoke orchestral music. His musical universe combines novelty and tradition in an organic manner, all in a unique Psy/Prog style. In this regard, his artist name refers to a writing technique used by Johann Sebastian Bach in which multiple melodic lines are interwoven to form a harmonious combination.

In 2023, Contrapunctus joined the Quebec collective Abduction Tales, and released his first EP Creatio as well as his single Dignity on Adhara Records.
In 2024, he released Conscious EP on Divinity Records, Continuum on Diatonic Records and Monk Chant on Adhara Records as well. He also played his first official live set at Era Festival.

Xavier L.-B. alias Contrapunctus est un producteur de Psytrance progressive et un mélomane dans l’âme depuis l’enfance. Il gagne aujourd’hui sa vie comme altiste au sein de différents ensembles et orchestres symphoniques comme interprète classique et il se passionne pour la musique électronique underground. 

Sa première rencontre avec la Psytrance, au festival Timeless 2017, l’a profondément marqué. Il décide alors de produire sa propre sonorité en suivant des cours avec le producteur d’ici  bien connu Black Marvin. La musique de Contrapunctus est envoutante, infusée de rythmes juxtaposés, de mélodies évolutives et de paysages sonores pouvant évoquer des musiques orchestrales. Son univers musical combine nouveauté et tradition de façon organique, le tout dans un style Psy/Prog unique. Son nom d’artiste, en ce sens, fait référence à une technique d’écriture utilisée par Jean-Sébastien Bach qui consiste à entremêler plusieurs lignes mélodiques pour former un amalgame harmonieux.

En 2023, Contrapunctus rejoint le collectif québécois Abduction Tales et sort son premier EP Creatio, ainsi que le single  Dignity sous étiquette Adhara Records. 
En 2024, il sort son EP Conscious sous le "label" Divinity Records, Continuum sur Diatonic Records ainsi que Monk Chant sur Adhara Records. Il a également joué son premier "live set" officiel à Era Festival.

Elias developed a love for electronic music from a young age, and as he became interested in music production, he dedicated himself to honing his skills. Thus, the 'Elijix' project was born, which stands out for its melodic, creative, and unpredictable characteristics. With influences from Progressive Trance and Techno, Elijix aims to make the audience dance and embark on a unique musical journey.

Elijix has released his productions on notable record labels such as Odiva and Spin Twist Records, gaining recognition on streaming platforms. Additionally, the project has had the opportunity to perform at major Brazilian festivals such as Psy Fly, 420 Voltz, Hydra, Yamã, and Jingledelic, captivating audiences with their immersive performances.
