This is a new series of live improvisations I am doing on the Push 2 in Ableton Live. The style is usually techno / melodic techno.
Everything is improvised and mixed on the fly with the exception of some of the drum patterns and I also create my own audio files in advance so I have the material there to loop or mangle. All basslines, synth lines etc are composed on the fly.
Obviously there is a compromise in the various elements as I am trying to compose, arrange, mix, control fx, sound design, minimizing CPU load and keeping it varied etc all at the same time and in the background. But the idea is just to have fun and hopefully find the occasional nice moment in the set. Unlike a DJ set, there are no tracks as such. It is more like a series of track elements and ideas that flow into one another.
