'High and Dry' Is the first single from my NO TUNES follow-up album NO TUNES Vol. 2, which I will be releasing next year. 

Part of me has always had a thing for sultry rock songs, like those heard in the 90s. So I tried my hand at a homage that is somewhere between Melodic Rock and Neo Classical Metal. Harmonically and melodically everything revolves around a conventional V-I relationship in D minor. Things get a bit more modern in the background: wide mixed guitars double syncopated bass lines, mostly in sync with the drums. The latter is sonically, as well as play-technically (strongly compressed sound and a less-is-not-always-more approach), also modern in design. I hope you like it.

'High and Dry' Ist die erste Single meines NO TUNES Nachfolgealbums NO TUNES Vol. 2, welches ich im kommenden Jahr veröffentlichen werde. 

Ein Teil von mir hat schon immer etwas für schwülstige Rocksongs übrig gehabt, wie sie in den 90ern zu hören waren. Drum habe ich mich einer Hommage versucht, die irgendwo zwischen Melodic Rock und Neo Classical Metal angesiedelt ist. Harmonisch und melodisch dreht sich alles um eine konventionelle V-I Beziehung in D-Moll. Ein bisschen moderner wird es im Hintergrund: Breit gemischte Gitarren Doppeln synkopische Basslinien und gehen mehrheitlich synchron mit dem Schlagzeug zu Werke. Letzteres ist klanglich, wie spieltechnisch (stark komprimierter Sound und weniger ist nicht immer mehr), ebenfalls modern angelegt. Viel Spaß

Bio:
I started playing the guitar at age of 16 (actually I bought a broken guitar from a friend to hang it on my rooms wall to impress my friends). Later I tried to strengthen my skills studying Jazzguitar at the Hannover University of Music and Drama (Germany). 

Meanwhile I discarded my professional pretensions in favour of an also intensive living as software engineer. After a break for more than 6 years, not playing guitar at all and hardly listening to music, I rediscovered my "puppy love" and my dreams and turned my former profession into a hobby...

Basically a Steinberger guitar, a Boss Looper, a lovely Ultra AXE-FX amplifier, Ableton Live recording software and me. 

Because I don't have enough time to organize a real band project, I use my myspace site to document ideas and snippets for a recording project I would like to release one day in 2010. Thus, please don't expect finished tracks yet (the reason why I called the project rAWtRaX - got it?) 

Influences:
Sooo many, but of course all the guitar- and non-guitar heros dedicated to music with a significant improvised portion grouped under the heading JAZZ.
