"Burn" is about the inability to keep something/someone that you really love.  I am in recovery from drugs and alcohol so I compared the pain that my ex brings me to the same pain drinking brings me.  "you burn me like the whiskey I can't have.."  starts the chorus.  You know they love you but they are also battling their own things as well and can't make the relationship work.

I'll Dissolve for You (2024) is the third wave of songs from an artist experiencing a burst of productivity. Crimes (2023) and The Marvelous (2022) established Midwest-based McNally as an instinctive and catchy underground rock guitarist. His earnest vocals and sharp songwriting fall somewhere between Matthew Sweet and The Wallflowers.

Devin Drobka (Field Report, Caley Conway) is back with masterful drums, percussion and synth performances, Ian Olvera (Lucinda Williams, Trapper Schoepp) plays mellotron and once again engineers an in-the-room sounding environment. Justin Perkins of Mystery Room Mastering was the no-doubt pick to provide the finishings. Carissa Sosnowski created album art oozing with colorful and vivid surrealism.
