Lorenzo Samuels also known as Le-Lo Thee Illest from Lentegeur, wrote Cape Flats in support of those against Gender Based Violence, when females marched the streets of Cape Town. The #AMINEXT trend was hitting social media hard & that inspired Le-Lo to do this track. He’s Producer Ron-Lee Sheldon also known as BigRon from Tafelsig, made the instrumental and then jumped with Le-Lo on the chorus. The track was then professionally mixed and mastered by Le-Lo’s Executive Producer Lestunner Make A Banger.

Lorenzo Samuels was born and bred in Cape Town, Mitchell’s Plain on 06 December 1991. He attended Lentegeur High School and is generally addressed by his stage name Le-Lo Thee Illest. He has always had a deep passion for hip-hop and the rap culture.
It was not until 2007, aged 15, when he started writing his own music and subsequently joined the group Xoduz as a “hype man” – gradually gaining confidence in being a part of the Cape Town music industry. Samuels is quoted as saying, “I’m just tired of rappers degrading women, women are queens. There is a message in my music. My songs uplift people and are mostly based on my true life story.” Le-Lo is a positive influence in the music industry and hopes to make a huge difference in communities.

Its Life or Death. Not your average musician.

My name is Lanelle Sznz and I am an artist. I rap, and paint for now. In the future I
would also like to start my own clothing brand and also act and direct my own movies. I was
born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y., with both of my parents in my life, and two younger sisters. I
call myself an artist because I don&#39;t want people to put me in a box saying that Im only able to
do one thing. I was always interested in art at a young age I would draw cartoon characters I
would see on tv, cut them out and play with them. After I was done I would tape them to my wall
so I could play with them the next day. My love for art started to die during my middle school
days and I kind of forced myself to go to an art High school so that if I was doing bad in school I
had an art class that I can get 90 in to boost my grade point average up. During my High school
years I started rapping. Before this I was never a rap fan or have I ever listen to rap on my own.
The only time I would listen to a rap song was in school or that quick minute a rap song was
being played on the radio. Rap wasnt loved in my house my mother and father was not rap fans
at all and the only thing that was being played was reggae and gospel. My introduction to rap
started as just free-styling after school to making songs at my friends house. My rap name at that
time was Wavey Mike, because during my High school days my waves was always the center of
attention so people would call me that name and I just stick with it. ive made two music videos,
one of my first videos is called ziplock flow. Ziplock flow was actually my first real song that I
put out. It was me and two of my other friends. I then proceeded to drop a mixtape called let;s
ride the waves mixtape Ive performed at shows such as The Five Spot, House Of Vans, The
Kitting Factory and many more. During that time with them Ive drop my second video called
Wavy Bastards ft Rigga. After that another one called Best Blend that was supposed to be on my
upcoming mixtape but I didn&#39;t feel like it fit the vibe I wanted it to be. Ive begin working on my
mixtape title Pursuit of Happiness: The Loner Stories. Few years pasted and Ive met this girl at
the bar one night and she looked so amazing that it made me pick up my brush again and start
painting. When the first stroke of my paint brush touched the canvas I was reunited with that
love I had for art when I was a kid. I am now still working on the Pursuit of Happiness: The
Loner Stories mixtape, I just had an art showing in August of 2016 and I am working on some
more pieces for the next show. My goal in the future is to put an end to suicide with the art and
music I put out. Bring awareness to loneness, and to show people it should not be taken lightly.
Music and art heals and I plan to show people that.
