I prepared this set for the second volume of my "Epistrophie" event series in early October. Like last time, I couldn't host it without the wholesome support of my partner in crime M. 

Thanks to my dear creatures of the night at @manitari-kollektiv, a few weeks later I had the spontaneous chance to replay and refine it at the Backstage location in Munich, awestruck to deliver my favourite curation so far through the biggest soundsystem yet.

As this set is an amalgamate of electronic music styles I currently hold most dearly, it covers quite the range of moods. 
The shiftings from dreamy and melodic to dark and demanding depths of sonic sensation required mixing techniques that were quite new and somewhat scary for me - nevertheless, I hope you are as elated by the imperfect result as I am.

The summer solstice marks the sun’s longest dance of the year and the first day of summer. Since ancient times humans have gathered at this yearly occurring day to dance together. Due to its potency, it is recognized as a time of powerful transformation. I had the honour to hold space during this peak moment on my beloved Waiheke Island. Big thanks to all beautiful people who received the solstice energy with me during this event.

It begins with a flow of natural, organic sounds from nature. They awaken the original state in you if you allow it. I prepare by emptying your mind, following the music, experiencing the enchanting change from track to track, the harmonious and technically masterful connection of two songs that belong together. This set needed more work than usual, every track is where it is to be fully effective. I see this set today as my spiritual highlight of my DJ sets. Since episode 5 & 6 (of Slow Down Your Life) didn't excite me as much as the episodes before them, it was my duty to make number 7 stand out again. I hope that the meditative effect will be just as strong for you. With this mix I'll send you on a 90 minute journey through the magical land of DMT. Good night. Good flight.

Go with the flow... and listen to your gut feeling while doing so! Dolph pays heed to this wisdom, both in life and in music.
His productions reveal an original sound that’s unique to him - one that stems from many influences, and yet doesn’t follow any of its rules - only his gut. His production career has roots in Hip Hop and Electronica - but his passion for melancholia of all kinds has driven him to produce music that reflects his musical evolution over time. With a knack for twisting rhythms and sound structures around one another, he shows a noticeable disregard towards style conventions - choosing to craft his own personal taste in beats that are gradually becoming more linear. An irresistible catchiness pulsates amongst rich bass lines and distinct melodies, intertwining energetic grooves with percussions in soundscapes that are electronic yet experimental, subtle and slow. No matter the tempo he’s moving in, it’s easy to recognize his music, which usually oscillates between a playful happy vibe and dreamy melancholia.
His productions have been released on labels such as Akumandra, Amselcom and the label that supported him from the very beginning -  Acker Records.
