 Mindtape is an artist  born and resident in Gasteiz, Basque Country.

It should be noted that at only 28 years old, young blood, he is capable of doing a live that reminds us of the roots of base or real Techno. Live at Kitsch (Gasteiz). Recorded using a Zoom recorder.

This time, it is a pleasure to upload this musical content based on modular analog synthesizers and total improvisation and live essence created with the arp 2600 clone and Soma Pulsar 23.

Without further ado, I propose you listen to this fantastic live really based on this day, hour, minute.... Real  and good handling of machines that are not easy to use. Which shows that there is much more to electronic music than what ordinary people can hear.

Jon Murphy - MODULAR OVERTURE

Adepta Editions is pleased to announce the release of AEX-04 | Jon Murphy | Modular Overture, a 12" vinyl EP that explores the depths and textures of modular sound. For this fourth installment in the AEX series, artist Jon Murphy, formerly known as 'Gravy Murphy' or 'Yanni' of 'Cissi & Yanni', presents his work under his own name, marking a new chapter in his musical career.

Modular Overture is a meticulously crafted work built with a Eurorack system, where Murphy creates immersive atmospheres, delving into the experimental realm of raw, analogue synthesis, unafraid to explore abrasive sonic territories. The Westlicht Performer sequencer, along with modules from Noise Engineering and Acidlabs, are key elements in this EP's sonic palette, which is characterized by its dynamism and depth. The release includes four original compositions that invite introspection and movement, exploring diverse emotions and sonic landscapes. In addition, the EP features three remixes by prominent artists in the electronic scene: Serge Geyzel, Cignol, and ΠΕΡΑ ΣΤΑ ΟΡΗ, who bring their own perspectives and styles to Murphy's work, further enriching the sonic experience.

This EP is the last in a series of four releases from Adepta Editions that have featured the collaboration of talented visual artist Vesna Vrdoljak. Her graphic work for Modular Overture complements the sonic proposal with an evocative and contemporary aesthetic, creating a cohesive and captivating audiovisual experience.

You can enjoy it on Youtube, me performing this dawless Live Set, expect deep ambients and never ending groove with a strong presence.
My new setup with the mc707 as mixer, sampler, and midi controller; is followed by the TR-8s as drum machine and layering; getting the TB-3 and the SYSTEM-1 in mono sidechain inside it as acid and evolving basslines.
The SYSTEM-1m as a semi modular sinthetizer is directly controlled by the MC-707 where I get a double midi output to play and sequence the modular device, it takes the gate control from the TR-8s getting a groovy side instead of the ambient soundscape I'm usual to produce with that.
