As the Summer draws in, the music keeps flowing here at WE FORFEIT. For June, we have a label we love. We have @gatedrecordings. Founded in 2019 by Dj @node and Jadey Smith, Gated has become an imprint of serious intent in the world of electronic music. 

This month, we’ve been lucky enough to speak with one the bosses of Gated, Node, about the imprint and what makes him tick. In a conversation that reveals all, and then some, we go back through the Gated catalogue and pick out some personal favourties from artists like Sound Synthesis, The Jaffa Kid and Dip Shim

In the second hour, Node takes the helm with a mix of serious proportions with gems from acid, breakbeat, electro and loads more. Expect unreleased material as well as tracks from Acidulant, Cityman Productions,  and Wave Function.

Here is a mix I made recently with newer Braindance and Electro, with some random electro and breakbeat type tracks that are older, sort of a random hodgepodge of melodic braindance, some sci-fi breaks tracks, and some electro and broken beat techno with a bit of IDM. James Shinra is a well-respected figure in the European electronic music scene, known for his intricate blend of electro, braindance, breakbeat and acid. Gaining recognition with his 2015 Ball & Chain EP on Null+Void and a follow-up remix and solo release on Bicep’s Feel My Bicep label, he went on to release acclaimed EPs and his debut album Vital Heat across key imprints like Analogical Force, Craigie Knowes and 20/20 Vision. Recent years have seen a return to club-ready sounds, with standout releases on We’re Going Deep and the launch of his own imprint Shinra Electro Company, earning DJ support from Bicep at Coachella. His second album Meteorites dropped in 2025, and he continues to perform dynamic DJ and live sets across Europe, with past highlights including Houghton Festival and Warehouse Project.

However my main obsessive focus lies mainly into old school electro and underground futuristic new school electro (Morphology, ERP, Versalife, Kan3da, Plant 43, 214, Analogical Force, CPU, AS1, Umwelt, AC records, Microlith, Armec, Sound Synthesis, Biochip, Illektrolab , Info, Lake Haze and many more), underground acid house (JTC - The Dancing Box and Creep Acid, 808 State Newbuild are some of my favorites), razor blade edits, Moog records, perverted comedy records, Bleeps and Breaks, 90-92 Hardcore techno and early rave tracks, smooth and sleek Detroit Style techno, electronic sound effect and obscure spoken word records and electronic listening music from the beginning to now..

As has been said by many others before, "There are 2 types of music, good music and bad music".

I have about 100 of my own tracks to finish, some are already done, some just need some fine tuning. I am going to use this channel mainly for Dj Mixes with a few of my own tracks on here as well.  Eventually they will get on my BandCamp, or even better, hopefully I will get something released on vinyl.

Krasius has always been an admirer of all things electronic. He started his late night adventures in the middle of the effusive 90's always trying to deepen his musical knowledge. Known for his braindance sets and ‘Bubbles’ series, he also likes to dig into ambient soundcapes, breakcore, apocalyptic industrial tones, electro, acid basslines, and particularly to switch from one genre to another.
After a long pause behind decks, he recently played for the first Analogical Force showcase in Belgium, and at the famous C12 club B2B with Nidrev alongside Aleksi Perälä and Luke Vibert.
