'Distant Voices' A Jazz Fusion track featuring Georg Boehme on Saxes and Andy Grossart on Basses. Andy and I first moved to London from Scotland, with a jazz trio almost 50 years ago and here we are almost 50 years later playing together again for the first time since then. 
This has been such a trip for me and with Georg in top form as 
always, the icing on the cake, so to speak.
Life just keeps getting better, from a musical perspective at least.

'The Last Buccaneers' During the 70's through 90's when Andy, Davey and I would meet up occasionally to play in London's music pubs, we would always be the last to leave the pub. We we're knicknamed 'the last buccaneers'.
So this is the title of the track and features:

'The Wind Blows East' Is a Jazz Fusion track, Featuring Andy Grossart (Bass) and Georg Boehme (Winds). Andy sent me a bunch of chords and asked if I would like to do anything with them. I loved the changes and set about organising them into a piece. After choosing a tempo, time signature and writing some top lines. I drafted out a rough arrangement, sent this through to Georg, who add his wind arrangements and solo lines. I then sent this back to Andy, who added his bass lines. Now came the enjoyable task of re-arranging the whole piece whilst adding my own parts, mixing and producing what we now have as a finished track.

Andy sent me through a 32 bar Bass solo and asked me if I could use it. This is the outcome from that 32 bars. Georg's Wind arrangement and solos are as always, exhilarating and bring with them a special dynamic to the piece. Andy's bass, solid and sometimes unpredictable and bringing his unique style throughout. So thank you to both for bringing my piece alive and it's my pleasure and honour as always to share with you.

Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.
My influences are many and I have quite probably been shaped by listening to the very many "giants" of music, both players and composers. From classical to contemporary jazz and everything in between. My main instrument is the keyboard, whether that be piano, organ or synth. But I also play banjo, flute and percussion. I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.
