At some point I started asking myself a simple question.

If you use the same method as the people you are fighting against, at what point does the method become the message?

The Hammer Gang used hammers. Against people they decided were fascists. Germany's domestic intelligence confirmed them as a violent network. In 2025 alone Germany recorded over a thousand violent left extremist offenses. Almost doubling the year before.

Fascism is clearly a threat. But when Hungary and Trump used those violent incidents to designate the entire movement as terrorist and criminalize protests, unions and dissent, the violence did not protect the movement. It handed its enemies the key.

The original idea was right. The method is the contradiction.

And politically, we’re facing a dangerously similar situation. The far-right is gaining more and more ground, and sometimes it feels like we’re running out of ideas about what we can actually do to stop it.

The piece functions as a haunting inventory of modern hardships, describing the sheer gravity of maintaining a radical identity within an increasingly fractured world. • 0 . intro: A purely electronic prologue that captures the initial state of systemic trauma. It evokes the raw, chaotic environment of a world in crisis—the auditory pressure and structural violence that first disrupt the individual and force the onset of radicalization. 

• I. black flag: Explores the erosion of the self within political movements, tracing the transition from individual agency to a state of being consumed by collective symbolism. 

• II. for sugar: Captures the cognitive dissonance of the radicalized mind and community, navigating the mental exhaustion of maintaining revolutionary intent amidst the mundane rituals of domestic life.
