I'm a Chicagoland singer-songwriter making bedroom rock because...why not? I was born & raised on Beatles & polkas. I'm not sure how that panned out to a sound more along the lines of Elliott Smith, but hey... I'm not complaining.

Dangerously, I recorded my first songs while I was learning to play guitar and before having halfway decent gear. Case in point is my first “album," 2001's "Cold In Your Head," tracked on a 60-second voice recorder that came
FREE with Windows '95. Click record every 60 seconds to add another minute. Then, overdub and repeat... Yikes! How far PC home-recording has come since then! But I was a freshman in high school with big ideas, no filter, & time on my hands.

My dad was the musical genius in the family. Methodical, disciplined, and creative; An accountant and computer software engineer by day but singer, clarinet, and sax player in a few different bands over the years by night. He passed in 2000. What's life? After something like that, a thing or two clicks and changes how you see the world. I was desperate for distraction and my Mom obliged buying my first guitar, a $100 red Carlo Robelli from Sam Ash.

Learning by ear and by book (no YouTube yet), I couldn't wait to create. Experiencing the joy of a satisfying lyric or lick and the addictive frustration attempting to commit those ideas to tape the way they sounded in my head was enough to get me hooked... U2's album "All That You Can't Leave Behind" released that same year and helped shape who l'd become and the first sound I sought. U2's also been an inspiration to wear my heart on my sleeve and shamelessly record without getting caught up in what anyone really thought of it.

Ultimately, I record because it's fun. But, sharing it with you is exhilarating. What a great feeling to be heard, and to hear from you...
