When I listened to the end product, it felt very dreamlike and peaceful. The image I had was similar to the summer days in high school. No responsibilities and generally good vibes all around. Where you can just enjoy being able to do nothing and all the small things that you never had the time to appreciate. Feel free to comment on what image and vibe you got out of the song since I am curious how others interpret it. 

This is my first song after a few practice runs to get into music production. It is supposed to be the culmination of my practice, so I made it by considering songs that I liked very much. Although I am learning music production for the sake of game development, it was nice to understand the songs that I enjoyed on a deeper level by really digging in what I liked about them. Most of the songs that I listened to for inspiration are usually considered as R&B Soul. These are songs from artists such as keshi, SZA, Luke Chiang, Dept, Joji, and Laufey. Surprisingly, it sounds nothing like the songs I listened to, but I am still happy with the end result. It is solely instrumental, but I treated the violin as a voice while I was making it. The main takeaway I had while writing based on these inspiration sources was that they had very soulful vocals/duets where you just feel the emotion behind them. I enjoyed the instrumentation of "Let You Break My Heart Again" by Laufey especially; so I wanted to incorporate orchestral instruments, but still wanted the drum and bass found commonly in R&B for that nice chill and catchy vibe like "Saturn" by SZA. In hindsight, these inspiration sources were more somber and contemplative which explains why the energy is very different. 

I was tempted to call it "Placid Joie de Vivre" since I thought it better captures that feeling, but maybe too extra at that point. The word placid was already pushing it but it best captures that low energy calm yet positive energy.

I am taking constructive feedback since this is the version of the song that I felt comfortable sharing with others. However, I still think there are areas of improvement that I may not readily recognize since I have been listening to it for a while. Not sure if or when I will take the feedback into consideration, but it's nice to see how I could improve as a reference for future songs. I am thinking of adding lyrics but replacing the violin with actual vocals, but I'm not sure when I'll be doing that since I haven't dabbled in lyric-making.

He couldn't mix it anymore and I felt obligated to put these 2 tracks together for him!
This is a voluminous track from 2 different extremely good psytrance tracks that he found very suitable for a remix.
