Warum die neue Arbeitsdebatte an der Realität vorbeigeht - Ein Kommentar

Zum Tag der Arbeit lasen die Working Class Daughters aus ihrem Buch "Working Class Daughters. Über Klasse sprechen". Dieses versammelt Gespräche zu Klasse, Geschlecht, Queerness, Arbeit, Migration, Widerstand und Sorge. Das Buch basiert auf Interviews, die Karolina und Kristina Dreit anhand eines Fragebogens einzeln geführt und zu "Gesprächen am Küchentisch" angeordnet haben. Wie bist du aufgewachsen? Welche Rolle haben Arbeit und finanzielle Sicherheit gespielt? Wann hast du das erste Mal gemerkt, dass es so etwas wie Klassen gibt? Viele der Befragten sind oder waren im Kunst- und Kulturbereich tätig. Alle sind oder waren einmal Töchter. Das Buch behauptet eine Wirklichkeit, in der das Sprechen über Klasse nicht von Scham oder Isolierung getragen wird, sondern Verbindungen schafft.

Karolina Dreit ist Arbeiter*innentochter und Post-Ost-Migrantin. Sie studierte u. a. Soziologie und ist als Kulturarbeiterin und Lehrerin tätig. Sie interessiert sich für Arbeitskämpfe, undogmatische Perspektiven auf Klasse und verbindende politische Praktiken. 

Kristina Dreit ist Künstlerin und Dramaturgin. Am Beispiel vom Stahl forscht sie zur Geschichte von Werkstoffen und der Verknüpfung von Körper, Klasse und Geschlecht. 

Working Class Daughters ist ein Projekt, an dem Kristina Dreit und Karolina Dreit seit 2018 arbeiten. In wechselnden Kooperationen realisieren sie Performances, Installationen und Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum. Für "Working Class Daughters. Über Klasse sprechen" arbeiteten sie mit der Künstlerin Selina Lampe, die für das Buch "visuelle Einschreibungen" entwickelte. Erschienen 2024 im Mandelbaum Verlag.
