Composer, performer and singer-songwriter from Concepción, Chile. In her first compositions she began with organic Latin folklore, then moved to touches of trip-hop with electro-ambient dance colors. 

Today she experiments with electronic, soul, pop and retro funky beat sounds. 

Her new work is called “Hope”, which is an EP that seeks to connect with her interpretation of the freezing of being. Mixing some stories of love, heartbreak and the fantasies of living the stories of other lives.

Compositora, interprete y autora oriunda de Concepción, en mis primeras composiciones viajé desde lo orgánico del folklore hasta mezclarme con toques de trip-hop y colores electro-ambient en mis primeras canciones.

Hoy, experimento con la electrónica, el soul, el pop, house y los sonidos retros del funky-beat. 

Espero disfruten mi nuevo trabajo llamado “Hope”, EP que conecta con esa búsqueda de la libertad del ser y abriendo relatos de amor, locura y otras vidas.

Marina P got a taste for jazz from her parents and cites Nina Simone and Chet Baker as early influences, as well as contemporary hip hop, trip hop and reggae artists. She started performing on the underground scene in her native Italy before moving to Paris where she has made her name writing killer tracks and voicing with power and style for an impressive variety of producers.
In France she formed a band called "Surviv'all" and started to get involved in the Soundsystem scene. Her break came when she voiced the massive “Divorce à l'italienne” with Mungo's Hi Fi, which was first released on Scotch Bonnet Records in 2007, and she has gone on to release hits with Jahtari, Stand High Patrol and DJ Madd.
2013 sees her releasing her first full album “My Homeys” on her own label “Homeys records” where she showcases the latest productions with a range of producers and shows her ability to go from soul music to digital reggae to bass music.
MARINA has worked on stage or in studio with: Mungo’s Hifi, Stand High Patrol, Jahtari, Stepart, DJ Madd, Soulvybz, Soul Stereo, Ondubground, Dub All Sense, Cool Runnings, Dub-4, Soom T, Jahspora...

Latin@ Stories is a podcast born out of the oral history project about Latin@s in Ohio, Oral Narratives of Latin@s in Ohio (ONLO). It seeks to amplify the Latin@ experience with interviews in Spanish, English and Spanglish
