Porucha není na všem příjimači. Intro je na albu John Carpenter zařazeno opravdu jako track č. 5! Proč? To je záhada. Tracklist je hádanka. Každopádně tady startuje film. Béčkový film, sci-fi, Carpenter sedí nad synťáky a skládá. Nutno dodat, že je album inspirováno převážně jeho hudbou než filmy, které ale samozřejmě adoruju též velice!

Po intru hned outro? A po něm to ješttě pokračuje? Ano, tracklist je enigma. Johna Carpentera můžete poslouchat různými směry. Tématem skladby je moje přelínání mezi "racionální" a "abstraktní" lyrikou. Jednou překročím jednu z hranic a už se nevrátím.

The Third Corpse (2025)

I got inspired by the old and traditional Erhu instrument.  
Apparently this instrument is Chinese - and NOT Mongolian as i previously thought whoops. Still, i imagined the great plains of Mongolia, chasing the skies on horseback.🐴🦅🇲🇳

So i found a synthesizer patch which used a vocal sample, fiddled with it until it dropped a few octaves andused this as a bass to remind me of Mongolian throat singing.
Still, i needed something to represent the feeling of riding across the plains, which is where the drums come in.  
The drums were my attempt at trying to understand what i liked about drums in Jungle, only no Amen Break was used, they were programmed manually in a 909 machine.
Rather than a "big drop", i used a transition into a more chaotic and playful chase as this fit the narrative better.  
Using the rides cymbal more prominently, truly give me that feeling of running with the wind.  🌬️
For story telling, the samples from the 🏰Teenage Engineering Medieval 🏰 sampler were used, right up my alley - expect b-movie level of samples.

I had a lot of fun mashing stuff together. Being nothing more than a 15-minute musical playsession on an iPad, this idea was left to rot on a harddrive - until i rediscovered the samples of the TE Medieval.  

Being a mash-up of whatever sounds i find fun, set to a tempo of 170 BPM, this was started on Garageband on iPad, and was made into a more complete track with Logic Pro when i woke up at 04:30 AM unable to fall asleep again.

John talks about adapting the Klowns score to a live to film concert, music education in the 70s, and his love for vintage synthesizers. John has some juicy behind the scenes stories while working on the music for B-movies like the Snake Eater Trilogy, Retro Puppet Master and Kickboxer 5. They also chat about how music production has changed over the years, scoring mobisodes, and being a kid on Halloween during the Cuban missile crisis. And to keep things Halloweeny, Andy is joined by Mike Mendoza to, sort of, talk about Halloween stuff.
