Space (Akasha 空) is the final movement in C/A minor (RI) in my five-part work, Godai - Journey Through the Elements (五大 - 五大元素の旅). Representing the boundless and unseen, Akasha is the element of pure potential—the vast, infinite space from which all things emerge and to which all things return. It is the realm beyond the physical, the silent void that holds all existence together.
As the concluding chapter of Godai, Space (Akasha 空) is both an ending and a beginning—an invitation to contemplate the unseen forces that shape our reality and the eternal cycle of existence.
Note: Silence measures are part of the performance. including at start.

Rain over Sukhothai is a meditative Thai spa composition that evokes the peaceful stillness of ancient temples under a gentle rainfall. A continuous layer of soft rain sounds forms the ambient backdrop, while traditional Thai elements—droning plucked zithers, airy bamboo flutes, subtle temple bells, and delicate wooden and metal percussion—interweave to create a sparse, tranquil atmosphere. Thoughtfully composed to soothe the senses, this piece is a perfect match for therapeutic massage or a deeply relaxing facial, whether in a luxury spa environment or as part of your at-home wellness ritual.

Monsoon Tranquility



This is the ninth piece out of a cycle of 14 pieces (hence the title) for Soprano and Flute, which I wrote for Kaoko Amano (Soprano) and Iva Kovač (Flutes). The cycle belongs, in a way, to a number of pieces under the collective identifier "exercises in transience", this one being the seventh "exercise". The unifying idea behind the pieces in this work series is not any kind of musical of formal aspect, but rather their metaphorical content, as in a way all of the pieces aim to work with the sensation of transient, passing life, transient reality, being mortal. There are no clear-cut indications as to how this needs to be adressed in a piece for it to belong to the series, however they do tend to feature similarly fragile sounds, partially unstable constellations, loose formal strategies and so on.

Some of these characteristics do also apply here, however the (perceived) necessity to use some text for the piece because of the presence of a singer lead to a slightly different approach. In "saying the same thing 14 times over", 14 different texts, from different authors across time(s), in different contexts and from different parts of the globe, are used to say, essentially, the same thing. This is also reflected in the flute part which is based on a recurring set of pitches.

This is a live recording of the piece from the first performance which took place on May 25th, 2025, at Neue Musik in St. Ruprecht, Vienna, with the very fabulous performers Kaoko Amano (Soprano) and Kovač (Flutes).

Also his contribution in compositions and important musical ensembles for this instrument, as well as the creation of a solid curricular study system to learn the mastery of this instrument breath by breath and based on self-discipline.

Ranie Ribeiro's artistic journey has taken on new dimensions and disciplines. Formerly known by his DJ moniker D-Ribeiro, Ranie Ribeiro is solidifying himself as a harpist. 

One of the notable aspects of his transformation is not only embracing the role of a composer, but also as a stage performer. 
For award winning choreographer Sedrig Verwoert’s latest piece “The Ritual” (2023), Ribeiro was initially commissioned as a co-composer alongside Phantom Wizard. Eventually both self taught musicians performed live on stage while Sedrig Verwoert and Alanna Archibald executed the piece in elegant movements.  

In live performances at acclaimed venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg and de Doelen (2023) Ribeiro used the harp to experiment with classical, electronica and hiphop elements while creating and adding on to existing compositions he describes as meditative and vulnerable. Ribeiro also appeared with singer-songwriter Linde Schone on NPO 3FM and with the newly formed Kinship Ensemble at Ruigoord (2023).

Ribeiro unveils his talents as a score composer for the first time on Het Jaar Rond on Nous’Klaer (2021), commissioned by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Embracing the harp’s delicate resonance he went on scoring various projects such as Het Limburgse Landschap (2021), Short Scores (2022) commissioned by Eye Film, and most recently, Waka Nanga Mi (2023). The latter short film was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and received massive public acclaim.
