November Mix

Future Classic have gone back to their deep house roots with 'Changed' by Mario & Vidis. They've also invited their friends Andre Lodemann, John Talabot, Soul Clap, jozif and Softwar to grab their pianos, drum machines and string ensembles for remixes.

Mario and Vidis are two gentlemen from Lithuania. Mario and Vidis' first tune was a remix for Atjazz and Robert Owens that was played and loved by Gilles Peterson, Pete Tong and Laurent Garnier, their first track with vocals “I'll Be Gone” didn't leave the MTV Baltic Top 20 for half a year! Since then they've worked with Jazzu, Kathy Diamond and released their debut album on their own label Silence Music. (Lithuania geographically parties next to Latvia, Belarus, Poland and the Baltic Sea.)

'Changed' is etherial – the whispy voice of Ernesto and cute skipping drums just make us happy. The video clip kind of wigs us out a little bit too (double meaning).

First remixer up is German producer Andre Lodemann, not many house producers would admit they came from trance and we're surprised we're even telling you. Lodemann's mix is a weapon, if you're listening to a little sample clip on the net you're not doing it justice, listen to the first 4:30! Phoar.

Permanent Vacation regular John Talabot pitch shifts the vocals and blisses everything out with celestial strings and ecstasy whilst burning hot producer and DJ team Soul Clap throw down a tough drum mix for the floor. Sydney lads and new Future Classic signee's Softwar work out a classic house jam and rounding out the package jozif of Wolf + Lamb fame gives a more live feel to the original.

Newcomers Millok & Zigelli from Montenegro debuts in the Noir Music family with this fine piece of deephouse music. Soothing groove, pads, atmospheres and a vocal that drags you deep into the track and makes you fall in love.
This was love at first listen for us and from there the track just grew bigger and better.
This release comes with great remixes by Mario Basanov + Balcazar & Sordo.

Mario Basanov is one of our favourite producers and we are honoured to finally add him to the Noir Music roster. Just as you think you heard the perfect track Mario twists and tweaks the music, creates the perfect groove and serves a dish that might even taste better. This remix is so damn well done and a perfect example of why we got nothing but love for Mr. Basanov.

We have been waiting for the perfect track to hand over to the talented Balcazar & Sordo to get them on remix duty for NM2 and boy are we happy with the choice.
This remix makes the track even more melancholic and the moody groove keeps you locked in all the way and wanting more. Please do notice the build all the way through with sub-additions being added towards the end. Clever production from the rising stars of Mexico.

Lithuanian deep house & disco maestro Mario Basanov drops his debut single “More For The Less” on Apersonal Music with the help from talented Toronto based Jeremy Glenn ripping it off on the vocals. First single from Mario after his successful album Journey and the first Basanov-Glenn collaboration, surely a special release.

A good feel, boogie monster if there ever was one, “More For The Less” has a definite early 80's prelude feel to it, updated with the immaculate production talent of Mario to a fresh, upfront production keeping the deep end of dance floor happily dancing.

Known for diverse sounds and head nodding beats, That Anton will have you moving. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, and now a “Vancouver household name,” his musical style is full spectrum. Hip hop, trip hop, downtempo, reggae, house, world beats, and all manner of bass music are all in his repertoire. All of the above are blended skillfully and sprinkled with a healthy dose of turntablism. It’s easy listening for the discerning ear. From dance floors in forests (Shambhala, Bass Coast, Astral Harvest, Luminosity, and many more) to that mix that was playing at your favourite restaurant last night, That African’s style is always pleasing crowds.

The Maneken is an outstanding artist working in one of the most trendy music directions – electronic rock. Using musical styles as an “outfit” for creation of his music ideas he made several unique “collections” which have found their fans not only in former CIS countries, but also in Europe and United States. When he first showed up in 2008, DJ’s from Ukrainian radio stations called him “Ukrainian Jamiroquai”. Today his compositions are wonderful combination of modern dance music and the broad of pop-rock culture heritage of the last decades.
Within two years The Maneken traveled half of the world. His concert geography goes from Yuzhno-Sakhalins’k in Russia to Washington DC, Los Angeles, Miami and Puerto Rico. He played on numerous significant events – he was the only Ukrainian artist playing at the Moscow Millionaire Fair 2009, gig at the main stage of Sochi Music Winter Conference  2010, electronic music festival Pure Future in Trakai, Lithuania, Odessa International Film Festival, Kazantip Festival and many others. His first solo concert held on April 16, 2010 in Kyiv, Ukraine, was a blast and just confirmed his reputation of being one of the most progressive artists on the territory of former CIS countries.
From the moment of his appearance The Maneken is cooperating with foreign recording companies. His debut album “First Look” (2009) was released by French label “Somekind Records” and thanks to Virgin Megastore distribution was sold in leading European countries and Japan. The Maneken’s music videos are being rotated on European music channels and on Middle East: Music Box Italy, MTV Baltic, MTV Arabia, Mad TV (Greece), Sola TV (Spain), QTOM (Germany) and thrice were in World Chart Express on MTV European.  
Turning point of The Maneken’s career was meeting German songwriter and movie director Charley Stadler, known for his “Dead Fish” movie with Garry Oldman playing the main character. Acquaintance grew into a friendship and long-term cooperation. As a result Charley wrote most of the lyrics and became a co-producer for The Maneken’s second album “Soulmate Sublime”. Album was released in April 2011 and presented in Kyiv, Moscow and Los Angeles, on May 2 during his promo gig at MUSEXPO-2011 – one of the main musical forums in the world.
Especially for the performance of new material The Maneken gathered the group, transforming from solo artist to an electronic-rock band. 
One of the most significant performance was on June, 14th when The Maneken played as an opening act before Jamiroquai show in Kiev Palace of Sports for 4 000 of people. During the summer of 2011 The Maneken was on tour performed at 54th Biennale at Venice, the biggest electronic festivals of CIS countries such as Global Gathering (Kiev), Kazantip etc. and presented the new album for 2 000 Ukrainian fans at Arena Concert Plaza (Kiev). 
In March of 2012 new single Safe Connection was released. The song is devoted to the problem of AIDS in Ukraine and it became official anthem for the project of the same name that were implemented by Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation. 
At the beginnig of summer The Maneken played at the biggest jazz festival of CIS countries "Usad'ba Jazz" in Moscow and start to work on a new album that is scheduled to release for autumn of 2012.

Born in 1983 in Liège, Belgium, Maxime Firket grew up surrounded by music. He studied music theory and classical music at the Academy and did not choose the easy route by opting to study the cello. "A demanding and monodic instrument which forces you to find the right sound and the right note to make yourself heard. My cello background is still useful to me today." As an adolescent, he dreamt of playing in a rock group, but also discovered Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Front 242 and Detroit techno. After having created his own studio and put together a few mixes on a Roland Compuphonic synthesiser (yes, that’s where the name comes from...), Maxime soon found himself behind the decks at Dirty Dancing nights in Brussels and recorded his first tracks for Dirty Dancing Recordings. In 2006, his reputation exploded on the dance floor with the groovy "Emotion", produced in collaboration with Tiga and released on his label ‘Turbo Recordings’.
 
Compuphonic’s dedication and elaborateness delivers spontaneous productions of hedonistic house. Natural, open to large spaces, ambitious but always accessible. Handling music as the art form it is. Alternating complicated with simple pieces, electronic with organic, light with dark, ease with emotional, celebration with pondering. Telling a different, but in its way even more exciting new tale, time and time again.
 
His underground hit “Sunset” ft Marques Toliver reached over 10 000 000 views (and counting) on YouTube and got support on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Rob Da Bank and key media / blogs.
 
More recently his releases ’Radio Atlantis’ and ‘The Sun Does Rise’ on Berlin’s  super label Exploited Records  have picked up great support by radio stations and bloggers worldwide and after playing shows at Pukkelpop, Dour Festival, Eurosonic, SXSW, Sonar Festival, Monegros,, he's set to become one of Europe's best known too.
 
His new EP “My Love” is expected mid November on Exploited Records. In the meantime  we invite you to have a listen to his  popular “Tales” (mixtape) episodes on Soundcloud.
