Rezidence 59 (September 2025)

Tasi is a Four piece group of diverse musicians that are based out of Hudson Valley, New York. The group consists of guitarist David McDonough who has been cutting his teeth on the east coast for the past decade, mentored by Scott Sharrard (of The Gregg Allman Band & Little Feat) in his younger years, he later shared the stage with Paul Gilbert (of Mr.Big & Racer X), Bill Evans (of Miles Davis & Elements) and many more. He is now a member of two groups based out of New York known as Primalia & Ivory Mosaic where he made his mark as a passionate Blues/Rock/Jam Band/R&B guitar player and continues to explore and expand his musical creativity and abilities with Tasi that lay over into the Fusion/Jazz/Funk realm.
Matt Bover is the force of nature behind the drum kit, Matt is a berklee graduate that has spent years playing and learning about music all over the globe from L.A. all the way to Barcelona, Spain. Matt’s virtuosic ability behind the drum set is breath taking, his tasteful playing appears to be effortless but are the fruits of thousands of hours of efficient practicing and teaching. In the summer of 2019 Matt had published his first drum lesson book titled “Chops for the modern drummer”. He later had been interviewed by Modern Drummer Magazine for a column discussing technique & playing. Dan McCabe has been the frontman of Tasi since the start, finding his fit as the Vocalist/Keyboard player but also is a talented guitar player and songwriter. Dan was a part of groups based out of Woodstock, NY known as Hickory Smoked & the Mead Mountain Resonators. Hickory smoked had eventually went on to headline an event at Levon Helms “The Barn” & many other renowned venues and areas in woodstock. Dan contributes an interesting blend of americana to the band but also has an underlying influence of blues, country & rock.
Ricky Kinyon is the talented multi-instrumentalist on the bass, Ricky had grown up as a virtuosic drummer playing in drum lines and Jazz Band in high school & learning from his father, however he couldn't resist the curiosity of guitar/bass playing. That had lead him to form & participate in multiple indie, rock & funk groups in the Hudson Valley. He has now found his creative outlets playing Drums for Ivory Mosaic & Bass for Tasi.
Tasi’s sound can be described as a blend of intense Rock/Blues & Jazz Fusion from the mid to late 70’s. They manage to capture the spirit and energy of these free form unconventional styles of music and blend them into a structured blues/funk & R&B based sound creating a unique & original style. The band is versatile, diverse, open minded & spontaneous like jam bands but not just another cliche clone.

Breaks, tech and deep!  I get lost in bass and beats of all sorts and have fun finding tracks that combine to create a new sound.
