Amphior (@amphior) follows up his appearance on Mantis Radio 296 (2019) w/ an exclusive session mix of ambient and downtempo tracks. Entitled 'Catharsis' it marks his new album 'Another Presence' that dropped last month on Italian label Glacial Movements. Once again the Danish producer illuminates through sound. 

'Another Presence' was recorded during the long and isolated time many of us experienced during lockdowns in 2020. Mathias Hammerstrøm found himself going through as he puts it, a bit of a personal hell. His mix is compiled with this in mind, "attempting to blend together the atmosphere of his album w/ similar inward vibrations, sometimes more angsty, sometimes fading into empty space."

Soul Intents third studio album draws on influences from labels such as Mo Wax and Ninja Tune during the mid 90s when Trip Hop was enjoying it's time in the limelight.

The result is a heartfelt 8 track exkursion into 170BPM music and features a welcome from Jazz vocalist Sula Mae who delivers yet another incredible vocal performance on "Fight For This".

Hjärngymnastik is a cratedigger project which aims to dig up and play electronic music released prior to the year 2000.  Styles such as Detroit Techno, IDM, Acid, Electro, Ambient, Bleep, Breakbeat, Jungle, New Beat, Deep House and many neighbouring styles will be heard in these sets.

Each sunday I'll be posting an hour of my selections. Some episodes will include guest mixes from excellent contributors - DJs, producers, record collectors and music enthusiasts. Within the same episode, the guest mix will be heard first followed by mine. A random drawing of brains conducting some kind of suspicious activity will of course accompany the set.

Let me know if you'd be interested in participating. There's always room for guests who can contribute with knowledge and interesting selections.

Soul Intent aka Alex Judd started receiving airplay in 2006 from the likes of Mary Ann Hobbs and Grooverider on Radio 1, and DJ Flight on BBC 1Xtra.

In 2013 Alex started his own imprint Lossless Music (inc sub-labels Dope Plates and Exkursions). Releases have enjoyed high praise of some of the worlds leading music press including DJ Mag (9/10 for LOSS004) and Mixmag (DnB Tune of the Month for LOSS005).

An active DJ in UK and Europe, Alex has performed at respected parties including City Flow (Belgium), Star Warz (Belgium), Sun & Bass (Sardinia), Cheeky Mondays (Holland), Airport Jam (Estonia), Fabric (UK), Detonate (UK), Spectrum (Ireland) and Soul In Motion (UK).
