I Heed Thy Sophia + vocals

Very different from the style I play live, Obligation is a painfully long, single-track album of free improvisation. Instruments compete with each other in a maelstrom. There are so many that I couldn't tell you an exact number. What would happen if you gave ~20 deaf persons each a random instrument, put them in a room together during their own personal schizoid episodes, loaded them full of amphetamines, and told them at knifepoint to play as though their lives depended on it?

Each instrument track was recorded live in one take from start to finish for 77 minutes.

Recorded on certain Saturdays from January through April 2025 at Five Miles from Nowhere. Recorded, engineered, & mixed by Ash Blackwater. Some tracks recorded at the Funhouse by Ben Brager.
