Blame The Mono is the result of an uncompromising artistic encounter between two DJs and producers. As members of a new generation decided to push the boundaries of conventional techno, their productions offer forward-thinking sound design and strong stylistic identity through an important blend of influences.

Their signature usage of vocals combined with rich song arrangements and sometimes dark, sometimes euphoric moods, make their tracks diverse, yet they all remain fine tuned for peak-time chaos. The duo’s DJ sets present an explosive selection highlighting their love of digging and show their will to satisfy the hungriest and sweatiest dancefloors.

Following a first successful 2020 instalment and a contribution to our VA series, Blame The Mono are back on the Taapion mothership to deliver their second household EP. This 4-tracker stays true to the beloved influences of the duo by showcasing multiple genres and heavily using vocals, while keeping a dancefloor-focused essence.

"Sustain The Rigour" translates the hard disciplined work Blame The Mono put in the studio switching over the techno recipe while keeping its original ingredients. Throughout the coldwave sonic explorations of "Forlorn", endless vocal looping drive of "Front Left Rodeo", bombastic Moog bassline of "Conepusher" or the spaced -out garagey vocal chops of "Caledonian Woofers", this EP keeps both pace and inventivity rigorously high.

The release kicks off with the 'Kneebreaker Mix', showcasing a top-tier interplay of reese bass. The pushing bassline and dynamic vocals provide the track with its living strength. In addition to the effects, the midsection break-beat mirrors the timeless sound of Blame The Mono, showering the listener with unmistakable recognition value.

Opening the B-Side is riko’s trance-infused remix, featuring consistent vocal shots from the original and a galloping bassline. In addition to the dub chords, the monotonous melody assumes control during the significant break in the middle, contributing a hypnotic quality to the track.
