M3D1NA is a dynamic music band that thrives on the intersection of raw power and melodic finesse. Formed by Jorge Medina on guitars and various other instruments, and Arnaldo Mercado lending his powerful vocals. Genre Exploration: While heavy metal and hard rock form the bedrock of M3D1NA’s sound, the band refuses to be confined by genre boundaries. They fearlessly experiment with other musical styles, infusing their compositions with elements of progressive rock and blues. Whether it’s a thunderous riff or a delicate acoustic passage, M3D1NA embraces the full spectrum of sonic expression. Jorge and Arnaldo have been musical comrades since the early '90s when they cut their teeth in a Puerto Rican band called Penitencia. Penitencia was more than a band; it was a brotherhood. Jorge and Arnaldo parted ways briefly, each pursuing their musical quests independently. Yet destiny had other plans. In a serendipitous twist, they reunited, this time as the driving force behind M3D1NA.

Since early 2020, and following my subsequent retirement from the live gigging scene after the Covid pandemic, this solo songwriting/home recording project has allowed me to focus on my songwriting ideas, past and present. It is purely aimed at gaining experience/understanding of the whole songwriting and home recording process whilst producing "three minute" demo mixes of original material. I'm sure there will be far more qualified, experienced, well equipped professionals out there who make a living from the process... but this is me, this is my sanity and this is my legacy after 40+ years of gigging on the local music scene!!!

Whilst it’s purpose is mainly for personal and creative satisfaction, if any commercial interest/opportunity was ever to materialise... that would be a very welcome added bonus!

I'm a songwriter and musician, have played in bands, play mostly guitar, and a bit of keyboards, but my primary passion is writing songs--creating cool songs that people can relate to. 

I like to write songs that have meaning and emotional impact, but try to also include some humor in them to make it not so serious and heavy.

Thanks for checking out my demos!  I create music using an electric guitar and bass, at present my demos don't have percussion, drums were the first instrument I played and someday I would hope to be in a situation where I could play percussion for my music!
