                                     SONG REVIEW: JUST MY TYPE
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Ronnie I serves up raucous and rollicking rock’n’roll, with his release of “Just My Type.” Powerful riffs and scorching leads play overtop a slamming backbeat on this guitar-heavy track, creating an aggressively muscular sound that epitomizes barroom rock. Ronnie delivers red-blooded lyrics with an over-the-top swagger to match the band’s staggering machismo, with plenty of great “Jagger-esque” ad libs sprinkled in for good measure. Fans of virile, masculine rock should definitely check out Ronnie I’s “Just My Type”, available now as a single on all major streaming platforms.

Excellent production, fantastic mix. Incredible energy throughout. Impressively large sound, especially at high volumes. Nice variety of guitar tones to create layers. Terrific solo at 2:40. Driving groove. Drums cut through the mix well, tambourine is doing a lot of work. Outstanding vocal performance; love the slightly exaggerated rock delivery, really sells the song and adds to the overall listener experience. The Jagger-style ad libs worked really well, nice touch. Lyrics are great; lots of wonderful macho-rock tropes, almost an homage to the genre. All in all this tune is a ton of fun, and a throwback to a simpler, “devil-may-care” time in rock music history. Stellar performances and execution, overall tremendous track!

In 2025 he will hit 30 years of being in Nashville, where he gained recognition as a session guitarist, putting an emphasis this year on establishing himself as a solo artist.

I was born and raised in Miami where sometimes Spanish and English get mixed up and what you get is "Mamacita". I hope it translates with the greatest respect and compliment and I like it cause it goes with "Muy Bonita".

George Jackson (March 12, 1945 - April 14, 2013) was a legendary songwriter who wrote many classic songs including “Old Time Rock and Roll” (Bob Seger), “Down Home Blues” (Z.Z. Hill), “One Bad Apple” (The Osmonds), “The Only Way Is Up” (Otis Clay) and “Get Involved” (George Soulé). Born in Mississippi, Jackson is known for his association with the Muscle Shoals recording scene, first writing for FAME and later for Muscle Shoals Sound before writing for Malaco which brought him back to Mississippi. Starting in the 1960s, he also released a string of records for labels like Hi, Decca, MGM and FAME including the seminal “Aretha, Sing One For Me” in 1972. More recently, several albums collecting his soulful singles and songwriting demos have been released . The Crazy Chester Radio Hour is created and hosted by record producer and songwriter Andreas Werner. The interview in this episode was recorded on November 16, 2009 at the Malaco Studio in Jackson MS by Kent Bruce. Special thanks to Burton Doss whose idea it was to do the interview.
