Mokapot’s debut EP presents itself as a recorded experiment of their musical journey of discovery. The young musicians from the Ruhr region of NRW, Germany blend their diverse genre influences into a wide range of dynamics. Their inspirations span from Beatles-esque lightness in “Blooming” to straightforward intensity and Muse-like vocal tones in “Falling Back,” culminating in a refined homage to 2000s British indie rock, most evident in “Where Your Poets End.” With this EP, Mokapot shapes this diverse sonic palette into a unique sound that reflects their freshly discovered identity.

Die erste gemeinsame EP von Mokapot präsentiert sich als vertontes Experiment ihrer musikalischen Findungsphase. Die jungen Musiker aus dem Ruhrgebiet verbinden darin ihre unterschiedlichen Genreprägungen zu einer breiten Palette an Dynamiken. Ihre Einflüsse reichen von beatlesquer Leichtigkeit in „Blooming“ über gradlinige Härte und Muse-artige Stimmfarben in „Falling Back“ bis hin zu einer feinen Hommage an den britischen Indie-Rock der 00er Jahre, die besonders in „Where Your Poets End“ zur Geltung kommt. Mit ihrer EP formt Mokapot aus diesem vielfältigen Klangspektrum einen ganz eigenen Sound, der ihre frisch entdeckte Handschrift trägt.

Die 27 jährige Newcomerin aus dem Ruhrgebiet ist von klein auf musikalisch interessiert und hing bereits früh an Instrumenten wie Keyboard und co.

2016 war dann das Jahr indem sich Mandy Ray an das Handwerk einer Djane traute und sofort Feuer und Flamme war.

Dank dieser brennenden Leidenschaft und Ihrem Talent hat es nicht lange gedauert bis die ersten Clubs ihre Tore für Sie öffneten.
