Between Worlds

A stark contrast to the emotionally charged and lyrically driven tracks on the Regrets album, The Sound of Peace is a meditative, ethereal, and deeply immersive experience that transcends traditional songwriting. The repetition of "Mmm… ohhh… ahhh…" throughout the verses serves as a sonic mantra, a reminder that peace isn't found in words, but in the spaces between them. Sayra gathers the community to heal themselves through creativity. Sayra founded DMT Breathwork and teaches at The Playground NYLA, where she leads movement,  teaches acting and leads creative breath work. She is certified with David Elliot and Frequency Breathwork. Much of her inspiration comes from the sensory work of the Actors Studio where she is an acting member.  The sensory approach practiced there is much like that of somatic therapy, going into the tensio and, unlocking the trapped energy through imagination, through being deeply curious. She spent months with the iconic Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowskiand searching for the potential of aliveness, through ancient song and exercise.  Her Jungian mentor Elizabeth Kemp taught her how to harness the power of my subconscious mind, to go deeper than making intentional choices but to work with the material of the soul to know the self deeply.
