Lights in the dark

Here's a slightly extended version of a mix I prepped and performed for my nephew JJ's first birthday festival - JJCHELLA! AKA a celebration for my fam Fresh & Jing's first year of parenthood. The attention to detail of this event showing elements of Coachella throughout the venue - from the string balloons, to the color spectrum spiral tower colors, a merch booth, ball pit/bounce house combo, and even a whole ferris (Farrice) wheel!

I wanted to make a mix that both reflected parts of me (the somewhat chaotic journey, who I have been listening to lately, my favorite subgenres) and parts of the My.BPM crew: (songs that remind me of my favorite euphoric moments and memories with them). 

This is only my 3rd time curating a planned set and I learned a lot on the fly playing it live on a different controller, which helped me to polish this mix a bit more and add some songs I did not play live to put it together a bit more fully. SP3PTRUM, un nuevo alias Dj multitalento nacido y criado en Palma de Mallorca a mediados de los 80.
La pasión por la música disco/club comenzó desde temprana edad, ya que mis padres solían reproducir sus grandes éxitos del momento en su tocadiscos colocado en el comedor de casa.
A los 20 años mi colección de vinilos empezó a crecer bajo la influencia de los DJ/productores de la Bahía de San Francisco, Chicago y Detroit.
Al cabo de unos años la escena mallorquina me permitió montar algunas fiestas en las que he ido recopilando recuerdos y conocimientos para definir mi estilo de música actual. El cual se caracteriza por sus potentes graves, acompañados de armónicas y sugerentes vocales, aunque a veces aprecio mucho las creaciones puramente instrumental.

SP3PTRUM, a new aka for a multi talent Dj born and raised in Palma de Mallorca in the mid '80s. 
Passion for disco music began in an early stage since their parents used to swing old classics in the old turntable placed in the dinning room of their House.
At the age of 20 his vinyl started to grow under the influence of San Francisco Bay, Chicago and Detroit producers, after a coupple years the scene in Mallorca let him thrown some parties where he has been collecting memories and knowledge to define my music style.
These are powerful beats with harmonical voices, but sometimes i like to enjoy good instrumental music.
