Bien avant la pandémie, Richard Rubin a fondé Repvblik, une entreprise en Californie qui transforme les hôtels en logement dans plusieurs Etats de la fédération américaine.

Voici son analyse autour des changements d'habitude des consommateurs et sur le futur du logement abordable. Plus de 30.000 hôtels vont fermer dans les prochaines années aux Etats-Unis. En réalité, la pandémie a seulement accéléré une tendance déjà existante. "Stay relevant or die", semble dire le marché. Même dans l'hôtellerie, les entreprises qui n'ont pas investi en innovation, les entreprises qui se sont contentées d'avoir une bonne position, sont en train de souffrir.

Et cela accompagne les phénomènes déjà observés pour les grandes-surfaces et pour les bureaux des entreprises.

Officials say there are some 2,800 vacant, under-utilized and contaminated brownfield sites in Mid-Michigan. Some are the legacy of a wave of automotive plant and parts supplier closures spanning three decades. Others are former gas stations, garages and dry cleaning shops that contain an array of environmental pollutants. These idle sites are a threat to public health and a barrier to economic development. Now, a new federal grant will be put towards remediation.

The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $500,000 to the Lansing Regional Brownfields Coalition to clean up more than a dozen sites.

Current State talks about the project with one of two project managers for this grant, Keith Lambert of LEAP, the Lansing Economic Area Partnership, and Karl Dorshimer, the director of business development with LEAP.

Featuring a panel discussion with Molly Meyer (Founder + CEO, Omni Ecosystems), Paviella Foster (CaSSA Manager, Teen Living Programs), Dan French (Founder + CEO, Brownfield Listings), and Meegan Czop (Owner + Creator, Great Lakes Yard).

In partnership with Healthy Soil Compost + Nature's Little Recyclers, all food waste was transported by bike and composted, and courtesy of partner, Chicago Votes, voter registration was conducted.

The Dialogue raised $130 for the Drop In Center of Teen Living Programs in support of their mission to address youth homelessness in Chicago.
