Born and raised in the Southside of Richmond VA, Bugzie found himself influenced and inspired by influential rap artist from the early 90’s. East coast and West Coast hip-hop was predominant to his musical foundation.

At the age of 17, Bugzie the Don was sentenced to 10 years in prison however throughout his years in the system, Bugzie continued to perfect his craft and build relationships with people from all across the United States.

Upon his release, Bugzie reunited with a friend who started his independent label entitled More Than Music Music Group (M.T.M). M.T.M was in negotiations with French Montana’s affiliating Boo Citi for a joint venture with his imprint “Coke Boy South”.  Bugzie was then presented with an opportunity to be a part of the label and in 2013 was officially signed to Coke Boys South. Within that year he released his first mixtape “Penitentiary Chances”. His subject matter does cover the harsh realities of his struggle in life, but also informing his fans that these things are to be avoided and not glorified.

 After years of numerous shows and on the road experiences with the group Coke Boys / Coke Boys South and collaborating with artists in the industry, he created a buzz of his own.

Fueled by the energy from his surroundings, Bugzie began relentlessly recording and was determined to be his own boss, which birthed his own label, Don Status Entertainment where he released his first full-length project “The Black Tape”.
