Sa voix ravit son auditoire depuis plusieurs décennies: la chanteuse  américaine Cece Winans s'est confiée au micro de Jean-François Bussy, membre du comité de RADIO R et l'un de ses plus grands fans hélvétiques!A l'occasion d'un récent voyage aux Etats-Unis, Jean-François Bussy a rencontré Cece Winans lors d'une soirée de gala en faveur de l'ONG Compassion. Membre du conseil de Compassion international et membre du comité de Radio Réveil-RADIO R, ce grand fan de musique gospel ne pouvait manquer l'occasion d'interviewer l'une de ses chanteuses préférées. Cece Winans a plus de 45 ans de carrière, si l'on se réfère à la première production à laquelle elle a participé en tant que choriste, l'album d'Andrae Crouch, autre star du Gospel: " J'avais 14 ou 15 ans à l'époque; j'ai aimé cette expérience. Je ne voulais pas être à tout prix sur le devant de la scène, mais j'aimais chanter, travailler en studio. Tout cela était très amusant", dit-elle en souriant. Interrogée sur l'impressionnant nombre de récompenses reçues au fil des ans (dont 15 Grammy), Cece reste modeste: "Chaque récompense est une réelle leçon d’humilité. Parce qu'on réalise qu'on n'est là que grâce aux portes que Dieu a ouvertes. Chacune de ces récompenses est particulière et appréciable, mais elle représente aussi le symbole que Dieu élargit le territoire pour que je puisse lui rendre gloire". Avec son mari Alvin Love, Cece a fondé l'église Nashville Live Christian Church au Tennesse. Sa foi en Dieu ne l'a jamais quittée depuis son enfance: "Ma foi, mon cheminement avec Dieu, ça représente tout pour moi. En marchant avec lui toutes ces années, je n’en finis pas d'être impressionnée par qui il est, vous savez. Lire la Bible, prier, faire partie de l’église locale, faire partie d'une communauté de croyants : pour moi, tout cela renforce et enrichit ma marche avec Dieu. Ça s’est avéré être une bénédiction, de l’avoir comme Seigneur de ma vie et de me soumettre à sa volonté". L'infatigable sexagénaire n'en finit pas non plus de s'émerveiller du pouvoir de la musique: "La musique est incroyable! Elle touche votre âme, elle change votre façon de voir, elle est très puissante! Voilà pourquoi il est vraiment important d’écouter de la musique positive, de la musique qui vous élève…"
