Frente a esto, funcionarios y activistas sociales de la ciudad han anunciado que lucharán contra la medida. “[Chicago] es un bastión del movimiento laboral en todo el país”, afirma Byron Sigcho López, concejal socialista demócrata del distrito 25 de Chicago. “Vamos a luchar por un país libre del fascismo y del dictador”. Sigcho-López también cuenta que la ciudad está planeando una movilización masiva para el Día del Trabajo.
