Relaxing Dark Celtic Music - Shadow Fae

A traditional Manx tune often heard in association with the Manx dance, Cummaghyn.

The Manx of the title translates into English as "It was a boatswain whose house was at Dover."
The tune was collected from John Radcliffe of the Howe, and first published in W. H. Gill's 'Manx National Music' (1898).

The recording here is performed by the band of Bock Yuan Fannee in 2007.

An unused theme for a script featuring legends of 'Selkie's' from Scottish folklore. Seal-like creatures that come from the sea, have the ability to shed their seal skin and come onto dry land in human form.

Joanna Borrett is a composer and cellist. She composes mainly for strings and her work combines elements of both classical and folk and  has been published by U.M.P. and SJ Music and Kevin Mayhew. The  string orchestral version of Clan was recorded by Her Ensemble and on its release immediately chosen as Album of the Weekend at Scala Radio, Video of the Day at Gramophone and played on Jools Holland's Radio 3 programme Earlier.
