PRACTICE 09 | A QUICK CENTERING PRACTICE

This sound art is a unique 10-minute Original Sound Design piece commissioned by the Cornell Art Museum (Delray Beach, FL.) to support a visual art Exhibition called “The World of Water”. 

Produced by Dave Rosenthal, a multidisciplinary artist based in South Florida, it is a sonic story depicting water movement across the earth starting as drips... in a cool cave high up in the mountains. As gravity guides these drips, tiny pools form transforming into babbling brooks, into streams, then rivers, then lakes. Humans have used these waterways for navigation and trade so you will hear next the sounds of water circling boat hulls. The piece then transitions into a rainstorm with sparse thunder... representing Mother Nature’s way of recycling water, and ultimately ending with the sounds of the Oceans that cover more than 70% of our Earth's surface. 
As Mother Nature is cyclical, this piece also moves repeatedly from cave to ocean... to cave... to ocean. May you find peace and relaxation in its rhythm.

Dave’s hope is that it will leave you contemplating this amazing cycle and importance of this most precious natural resource of water… it is worthy of our admiration… and most of all, our protection.
