CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

NEW HEDONISM: The local scene is way too "bright" as it is everywhere else, I guess. I used to party in raves and clubs; now I'm looking for a limited quantity of people parties where there are only a few lights and no fame. On the other side, there are absolutely great parties on the German side of Switzerland, and I think we need to learn about the theme here in Geneva. I want to contribute (on my own and with DERESTRICT) to develop this dark, illegal, and sweaty vibe here.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

NEW HEDONISM: No need to mention anything except it's raw, aggressive and melancholic.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

NEW HEDONISM: People can clearly notice the path I have taken for almost two years now. I love it fast, Industrial & reaaaally energic. A lot of inspiration from the Eastern European scene.

CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

ABAT: I wouldn't go as far as to say that our scene is bad, but unfortunately, for the Industrial genre, the scene is non-existent. We only have Donu D and me at the moment, and this is on a country level. Currently, we are just two active DJs/producers of this genre here. We've searched for people who share the same vision and way of thinking as we do but to no avail. Sadly, it feels like we're on a stranded island, but nothing will stop us. Even if we live 400 kilometres apart, we are ambitious, and we strive to bring this genre to the underground scene as soon as possible, despite the challenges that are ahead 🖤🫡 Despite the Industrial genre being almost zero, our Hard Techno community is waaaay bigger and striving; although it's the "commercial" type, at least we have this 😁👌

It has made me overcome many barriers. I am walking on thin ice in our country because nobody actually listens to Industrial Techno. Our scene is filled with commercial Hard Techno stuff, and I highly dislike that genre now. Currently, I am trying to revive the Industrial scene once started by Donu D and Sergiu TH. Luckily for me, I still have Donu D as a friend and colleague, as he is still active in the scene!

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

ABAT: The set is straightforward, as all of my sets hit directly in your face as soon as an intro from a selected culture I admire ends. This podcast contains the Serbian chant "Terrifying Judgment", which adds a nice Orthodox touch.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

ABAT: The set reflects my mixing style, which includes around 30 tracks played throughout 60 minutes, which for some people may sound like too much. I am always running out of time, even before the time limit, because I am transitioning very fast from one track to another to keep the energy level very high and to make people dance to exhaustion! I want to say that mastering the EQ faders is a must for everyone who wants to play Bochka!

erhardy: We have a really heavy underground scene in Hungary, and I'm proud to be one of them; they inspired me a lot.

erhardy: I was actually just randomly selecting the tracks while recording the set; every single song is produced by one of my favourite artists.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

erhardy: I started DJing not so long ago, but I learnt so much, and I always prefer strong industrial materials in my sets.

MNCH: The local scene has played a crucial role in shaping me as an artist, providing an invaluable platform for growth and inspiration. After relocating to Germany, I found myself immersed in a whole new environment, offering fresh perspectives and opportunities for artistic development. The change in scenery brought with it a renewed sense of inspiration and excitement as I encountered a different cultural atmosphere. This dynamic music scene in Germany gave me a new opportunity to explore and express myself creatively. This fresh start allowed me to reinvent myself as an artist, pushing me to evolve my style and adapt to new audiences and trends. Embracing this new chapter has been challenging and rewarding, ultimately shaping me into the artist I am today.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

MNCH: I'm glad to share that this set is a unique hybrid mix, blending some of my favourite tracks along with an exclusive unreleased track of my own. It's a unique opportunity for the listeners to experience diverse sounds, including a peep into my latest work. I can't wait for everyone to hear it and hope it adds an extra layer of excitement to the set.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

MNCH: It reflects the evolution and growth of my style and DJing journey since I first started. It incorporates elements from various genres and influences that I've explored, showcasing how my tastes and skills have developed over time. It also includes a personal touch, demonstrating how I've honed my production abilities alongside my DJing prowess. Overall, the set serves as a snapshot of where I am in my artistic journey while also hinting at the exciting directions I'm headed in the future.

Monk000: I've liked techno for a long time, but one day, I went to an Industrial Techno event. I was impressed by the event and from there I started to be interested.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

Monk000: What I was conscious of when making this set I was conscious of a set that I could always keep dancing. In the first half, Groovy, from the middle to the second half, I'm making it a set that gradually increases the sense of exhilaration. Also, I did a lot of interesting mixing. Please pay attention there as well.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

Monk000: I've always been conscious of it since I started DJing, so I don't get tired of people who listen to me. Play so that you can keep dancing for a long time I'm conscious. I think it's also reflected in this set. Please enjoy it until the end.

ARTWAQ: My local techno scene was really good and warm in the beginning but I disagreed on how hard and fast the music was. That’s why I started to make my own music. These days is the scene different but it’s a coincidence that it fits my style.

ARTWAQ: I always try to create a unique set with a unique experience. I chose tracks that fits in.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

ARTWAQ: It took some time before I found my own style but after 3 years it was finally there. This set is a good reflection of how I want it to be. With a good building up and some finishing at the end.
