Episode 105 : With Guest Josiah Prince of Disciple

“30 Pieces” is a haunting reflection on betrayal, greed, and redemption. The song takes the listener on a journey through the darkest moments of human frailty, drawing from the biblical story of Judas’ betrayal. The shimmering silver, the price of Jesus’ sacrifice, becomes both a symbol of guilt and a catalyst for transformation.

From the opening verse, where "thirty silver pieces" pass from hand to hand beneath the flickering light, to the devastating realization that greed cannot wash away the stain of betrayal, the song’s lyrics explore the weight of sin and the pain of treason. Yet, in the midst of sorrow and loss, the chorus offers a glimmer of hope—"love will rise again." It’s a powerful reminder that even in the depths of darkness, redemption is possible.

The bridge introduces the notion that while silver may buy temporary moments, the soul remains untouched, and true grace comes from something much deeper. As the song builds, the burial of the coins represents the end of betrayal and the beginning of resurrection. Inspired by the book "Fallen and Divine - When Worlds Collide" A paranormal romantasy by author Angeline Ashera (lyrics in book and fictional band "Fallen and Divine"). These lyrics were a prophecy given to Azariel (main character and lead singer) who proceeded to create this song. An epic yet forbidden romance about a young woman in crisis and the fallen angel who claims her heart. The battle of darkness and light is prevalent but ultimately this is a story about redemption and the power of love.
