The Ugly Ghost is a poetry album converted into audio tracks to convey my feelings concerning a woman I killed. It is a scream of desperation amidst the whispers of heartache. This is my misplaced grief. I really just couldn't do the vocals.

Summer is coming, the sound of cicadas in the park. It's my first time to use the homemade SASS microphone structure. The recording is very stereoscopic, very close to the feeling of listening live, I feel very satisfied.

From the earliest I can recall I’ve always had an affinity to nature, an emotional connect with quiet mornings, the chirping of birds, the candid behaviour of animals when they don’t realise a human is watching, the clouds rolling over the hills, gushing streams - I can ramble on. 

So I took a camera and some mics and decided to record everything I saw and every sound I heard. I have put my photos and videos together on my website (https://wildart.works/) and now I am putting together the audio I have recorded from these trips into the wilderness. 

These are an effort to portray ‘that feeling’, you know, when you watch twilight in the jungle, the sense of isolation when you have a beach to yourself, the sound of a swift river over some rocks, the roar of a waterfall - they are all about telling ‘that’ story.

Recently, I've been hooked on nature recording, and I used Pui Audio's aom-5024 microphone capsule to handcraft my first pair of stereo microphones plus a second-hand Olympus LS-7 recorder, and that's how I started my nature recording journey.
