Started in 2012 as a solo project of drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Carter (ex-The Chariot, ex-Deus Invictus), Darkening was borne out of necessity to create something much heavier and abrasive than the aforementioned projects.  Added to the roster is bassist Josh Swofford (ex-Luti-Kriss, Norma Jean), pummeling listeners on the low end with reckless abandon.   Combining black metal's screeching lust for the occult, death metal's aural supremacy, the heart of punk and good old fashioned rock and roll swing has this band on trajectory to breaking new ground in the fields, or graveyards, of heavy metal past; digging up a new corpse entirely!
