A few weeks ago, I had the chance to play again in one of my favorite clubs in Berlin. Currently, it looks like the club will close by the end of the year, and it makes me super sad. I can still remember well how I ended up at Renate for the first time over 10 years ago, suddenly and under strange circumstances, all alone, and I fell in love with the club right away.
I've tried again to pack together all the important musical influences and inspirations that I want to associate with my DJ sets. Enjoy the journey with Steffi Sound. Deepness. Driving sounds. Slightly hypnotic and a bit of melancholy Vibes.

After a night of high-energy beats and untamed dancefloor chaos, it was time to bring the ship to shore—sensually, hypnotically, and with just the right amount of mischief. This closing set was pure Tantrixxx energy: deep, tribal, and laced with sultry melodies that wrapped around the seaside crowd like a warm, rhythmic embrace. A sonic landing for 250 souls under the Cape Town sunset, infused with pulsating grooves, teasing vocals, and that tantric touch.

Today is my birthday and what better way to celebrate it than to share my closing set from Tresor's 34'th Birthday Party. It was truly an epic evening. The amount of dancers that stayed with me till the end gave me such joy.

Steffi*, also known as "Mind Crash", calls Bremen his home and has been involved in the techno scene since late 2009. It was at this time that he was introduced to the subcultural club project, ZUCKER, which sparked his passion for underground raves and DJing. Slowly but surely, he began to make a name for himself in the local scene, supporting underground events and eventually becoming a resident DJ at ZUCKER CLUB. He also collaborated closely with AUDITIVE, a Bremen-based vinyl label, and organized regular, in-depth label parties.

In 2011, Steffi* was invited to join the party series "Heimlich," founded by Bebetta & Le Palf, which has since become one of the most popular parties in Bremen. Meanwhile, he had the opportunity to play in various clubs and festivals across Germany, such as Fusion, Wilde Möhre, Keller Club, Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Salon Zur Wilden Renate, and his current favorite venue, Zugvøgel Festival.

In 2014, Steffi moved to Berlin to gain a deeper understanding of the scene and its clubs and to participate in events. It was on the recommendation of a good friend that he attended one of the first Zugvøgel Festivals in 2016 and was immediately captivated by the independent work and creativity of the organizers. He made the decision to support this project with passion from that moment on.

Steffi's musical preferences as a DJ are characterized by his love for deep, emotional, and particularly melancholic music, as well as hypnotic, driving, and dramatic powerful music. Since the beginning of his career, he has aimed to combine these characteristics into a recognizable style, which sometimes makes him a secret weapon, especially for morning hours, afterhours, or closing sets in clubs or at festivals.

Toni L8lee - South Africa (Techno act of ScamAntrix), plays a variety of different sub electronic-genres which dabbles into Techno elements with psychedelic minimal tribal infusions. Her DJ sets often include lesser known artists whom she has sourced by digging deep into the music matrix- this is one of the contributing factors to her sets having an entirely unique, fresh signature sound, regardless of genre.

Struggle often creates art, and for Maeghan Donovan, the artist known as Maedon, this certainly rings true. Splitting her time between grimy Baltimore and filthy Philly while learning the craft, her 2018 arrival in NYC confirmed her emergence into the scene, pushed along by a partnership with Brooklyn/Berlin techno powerhouse Sonic Groove and its head Adam X. A longtime student of industrial and wave music, it was this combined with the tough techno pioneered by this NYC institution that brought her to new breakthroughs and an international audience.
 
Three years later Maeghan forges ahead to the next phase of her career on the heels of a well-received collaborative full-length with Adam X as Maedon-X and a freshly minted residency, both courtesy of the legendary Tresor. Confirming her voice with finessed production and raw, autobiographical and political content, she launched her Rant & Rave imprint in 2023 seeking to platform female artists alongside established and new voices in artistic techno and industrial music. Assuring her future as the world falls apart, Maedon’s bracing sound and undeniable skills are a story now unfolding, with its beginnings already written in grit.
