Next up on Unmasked Discussion iS Cukier, founder and resident at Codeword, the techno series at Fold and monthly show on Threads radio.  As a DJ, Cukier is drawn to deep and transcendent sounds inspired by a blend of Berlin industrial-minimalism and more explorative, trippier soundscapes. 

As event curator, Cukier’s Codeword events have been praised for “expertly smudging the line between the emotive and dynamic”. With a focus on timeless and immersive techno, Codeword lineups have featured artists including Efdemin, Boris, Inigo Kennedy, Inland, Blind Observatory and Jamaica Suk. The event series is set to return to the dancefloor in 2022.

Codeword hosts Keira Meier (@Keira), the Milan-based techno producer and DJ. A well-known DJ in Milan's techno underground, Keira Meier is now making a big impression with recent releases on labels including Barcelona's @suara and Rome's Pyteca.

For our final show of 2021, @codeword-london hosts Biri, one of Tel Aviv’s finest electronic-music exports. @biri1990's signature blend of trippy, hypnotic and deep techno releases have been snapped up by leading labels including Len Faki’s @figure.official, Inland’s @counterchange-inland , Derrick May’s @transmat,  and most recently with his latest EP, 'Untitled Drift' on Psyk’s @nonseries.

Biri’s musical and geographic journey from his hometown Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, via Berlin and now London, also includes a successful collaboration as artist duo Deep’a and Biri and founding the label Black Crow. As a solo artist in his own right, Biri is pushing the boundaries of deep techno and IDM and is on a trajectory that merits serious attention.

Cukier is the resident and founder at Codeword, the underground techno event series in London and Berlin. Cukier’s sets fuse heady, hypnotic and driving techno with deep and emotive elements. DJing at FOLD since 2019, he recently closed at ELSE Berlin where Codeword launched its European debut featuring techno luminaries Efdemin and Kangding Ray. Cukier has also hosted and played alongside artists including Rødhåd, Fadi Mohem, JakoJako, Ignez, BLANKA and many more. A former resident on Threads Radio, he was recently a special guest on Tempelhof Radio’s ‘Honest Work’.
