OK, true, we already released a song today, and you're probably still sipping your coffee from https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/my-coffee-and-me.
But we just had to drop this instrumental too (OK, to be honest, it was our nerdy keyboard player Mauro who absolutely insisted on it), a little tribute to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Commodore Amiga (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga)! 🎂💾
On July 23, 1985, the legendary Commodore Amiga was unveiled at New York’s Lincoln Center, with the iconic Andy Warhol as its godfather and the fantastic Debbie Harry from Blondie adding star power to the event.
The Amiga was a beast for its time: 8-bit samples, thousands of colors (32 out of 4096 at first, then 256+ with AGA), and the legendary HAM mode.
A machine that changed the game and inspired this track.

Conversion of the music from the first stage of Space Manbow, taken from MSX. The percussion track has been modified with more Amiga-style sounds, as I didn't like the originals. Mod size 130Kb, 4 channels.

I started making music in 1991 on my Commodore Amiga 500. I started composing on the PC in 1998. I had a break from music from 2003 to 2018. I write music using Protracker 2.3, Fasttracker 2, Goattracker 2.74, Vortex Tracker 2.5, Raster Music Tracker, Arkos Tracker, and FL Studio 24.1.2.

🎸We’re a band of five jamming out of our so-called studio, tinkering with different styles and influences to create a sound that’s totally our own.
The band has existed since 2015, but we only started publishing on SoundCloud in 2024 (actually since 2016, but we wiped everything in the early 2020s.. we can show you screenshots of our insights if you don’t believe us, and follow the motto: “if an artist didn’t exist before 2023, it’s AI"). Many of the songs we’ve released so far are reboots of tracks we wrote years ago, in case you were wondering how we managed to release over 100 tracks in one year. Before 2024 our audience was limited to a few hundred friends and acquaintances.
We’re not professional musicians. We have other jobs and don’t even call ourselves musicians, more like loud entertainers with a message.

📝About our future: we might be leaving Spotify (and probably all the other mainstream platforms too) in the next few months.
We might stay here, at least in theory. We’ll see.  We have real lives and real jobs outside of music, light-years away from it. Everything has been starting to feel forced and heavy. Better to focus on real life and let music take the spot it deserves: just for fun and free time.🫡
