mAEn is an Italian anthropo-alchemic duo formed by Maurizio Chiantone and Enrico Pofi, Neapolitans. This strange transmutability of the two is the result of a continuous research on languages and the incredible world of sounds that surrounds them. Acoustic sparks and sound microclimates with and through which structures and new ways of creation are experimented regarding the relationship between man, media and technology. For a long time, their own kermesse rest on constant attention to the infinite possibility of combination and manipulation of the codes, which are the distinctive and transversal elements that compose them or the dynamic and creative potential connected to the production or implementation of an event.

mAEn processes in any available space, using supports acoustic and digital, building their own performances on a minimal research concept.
In this direction, ethnic materials and sound objects, self-made, commonly used, metals, woods, glass, plastics, that can be urged, are used in an open and experimental way.
Use instead of the new technologies offered by digital tools tablet, phones, keyboards, pads, sequencer, contributes to the creation of a connected set in a key aesthetic and formal.
The material mood integrates with the virtual one.

Fifth Element is the result of contact with the space available, using both acoustic and digital supports, aiming at a minimal research concept. In this direction, ethnic, self-built, commonly used metals, wood, glass, plastics, stressable materials and sound objects are used in an open and experimental way. The electronic and technological supports, offered by digital tools tablets, phones, keyboards, pads, sequencers, contribute to the realisation of a connected whole in an aesthetic and formal reading key. The material mood is integrated with the virtual one.

SWINE PREMIERE ☛ Slovak artist Lénok's new single from the upcoming album "Langue of Tongue" via Slovak label ☛ @mappaeditions

✤ Lénok’s "Langue of Tongue" is a descent. An unhinged pinballing down a realm of incomprehension and lunacy, a darkly psychedelic ego-death-spiral into a world of pure, deranged disquiet. It is, and this cannot be emphasised enough, a truly fucked up place. The message is clear: this is less album than zone.

✤ There's no comfort to be found here. It’s like the inner monologue of some insectile, cyborgian abomination, something unfeeling and hostile, something that could only thrive in a mirror world that perverts light and sullies warmth. It's a netherworld: tracks jut out and stab like cold, craggy wastelandscapes, tangled meshworks of alienic transmissions bleed out into deformed knots of gurgling white noise, lacerations of sound roil and heave and claw as if imprisoned within oppressive waveforms. Lénok is best in this - creating her totally unique and mesmerizing sound-world.

✤ "Langue of Tongue" is recommended for the curious and advanced listener. This is music for whatever the opposite of escapism is — it’s REAL twisted. But sometimes morbid fascination takes hold. Sometimes you lift the rock, because you can’t help it, and you observe the squirming mess of life it plays host to. What you experience may not be pleasant, but you might just struggle to tear yourself away.

Alex Thode (he/him) would first like you to know that not only is the “e” at the end of his last name not silent, but that he is also a composer and arranger most known for his work in the pageantry arts. He resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin with his cat, Buzz. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Alex composes and arranges for marching bands across the continental United States.

Alex's clientele have been Bands of America (BOA) Regional Champions and Finalists, UIL State Finalists and Area Champions, and WGI Winds World Champions, with Finalists in every classification. He has also had the privilege of having his arrangements performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Bandfest.

In addition to his compositions and arrangements for the pageantry arts, Alex also composes symphonic band and chamber percussion works.

In his free time, Alex enjoys watching movies and believing he’s a professional film critic, hiking and pretending that he’s athletic, traveling to National Parks — of which he’d eventually like to visit all — and acting like he’s Marco Polo, playing piano, guitar and a variety of kalimbas, and being with good company.

Neapolitan, graduated in Double Bass at the Conservatory of Naples, a Master in Digital Writing at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Florence and graduated in Electroacoustic Musical Composition at the Conservatory of Benevento, he is strongly attracted by the possibilities of interchange of codes and their distinctive and transversal constituent elements . The research areas focus on the interactions between Visual and Sound Art and push towards a study aimed at the relationships between phonemes, signs, perception and environment in a holistic and minimalist direction. There are numerous performances and installations in which he participates with a wide versatility between cultures, styles and artistic models and in which he operates on multiple levels of interest: compositional, planning, didactic; between exchanges of thoughts and actions shared with artists and creatives.
