Blending her delicate voice with sharp lyrics ranging from faith, love, heartbreak and social commentary, then adding the unpredictability of flow and language to the mix, DebbyCathrine is a Congolese polyglot and musical nomad with a distinct identity worth paying attention to. 

As a 21-year-old Writer, Artist and Content Creator now, Cathrine’s musical journey started in 2017 when songwriting became a newly-found hobby. 

In 2018, after being given a sample beat she’d written a song for, “Happier Alone” never made it into the world as the inaccessibility to a studio created a speed-bump to her promising, smooth-sailing musical route.

In 2021, Cathrine discovered Voloco, a studio-recording app allowing her to record a song which went on to become her first release on SoundCloud, "What Are You Waiting For" (a 2001 Hip Hop instrumental produced by Pete Rock from his "PeteStrumentals" album).  

Every song released after "What Are You Waiting For" were green lights leading up to "Beloved", the artist's first EP centred on her mental, emotional and spiritual growth. It featured 2002 Soul, Electronica and Drum & Bass instrumentals produced by Desmond Williams from his "Delights of the Garden" album. Its humble success gathered a total of 91 listeners in June of 2022.

In August of 2022, an artist exposed DebbyCathrine to Fat Jon and Nujabes. This is how "Wes's Genee: The Soundtrack" came to life through its release featuring the producers' 2004 Hip Hop instrumentals from their "Impression" album. The soundtrack was made for her 2022 Wattpad Action e-book, "Wes's Genee", which was subsequently published in the same month. 

In November of 2023, her third EP, "Unsolved Mysteries" was released featuring 2004 Hip Hop instrumentals again produced by Nujabes and Fat Jon from their "Departure" album. This was a work of fiction on behalf of Cathrine’s fascination with renowned unsolved identities.

Her musical influences include Michael Jackson, Cleo Sol and Kanye West.
