Following T UP, I wanted to do something I haven’t seen much of. In terms of society as whole, I believe most of us can agree that unconditional love and even love in general is unaccounted for. Which is honestly sad. Showing love nowadays gets you looked at crazily or weirdly (don’t know how) or even called a dick rider or even gay…or even some other names. Regardless, as an artist, I don’t give a rats ass about all that. I didn’t become an artist to be like most people in todays society, be like any other artists, or follow unexplainably dumb agendas. I became an artist to be me unapologetically and do that through whatever medium of my choosing. With that being said, I made this track to not only shout out those I hold dear to me and let them know I love and appreciate them no matter what, but to also let every soul and spirit who listens to this track know that I love and appreciate them as well. No matter the circumstance; if I don’t even know you, if we’ve never met, or anything of that nature that would somehow rule out a reasoning for me showing you love or appreciation. "Earthly matter(s)" is a project dedicated to art, science and somatics.

This project is an attempt to use somatics as a bridge to other disciplines - to bring the body with its layered and political felt experience into the discourse within other disciplines. It specifically looks at natural phenomena, ecosystems and other species for aquiring knowledge and practices, which support us humans to stir away from the toxic, violent and extractive culture of capitalism and learn to come into balance with the larger earthly ecosystem again, of which we depend on.

Some thoughts on somatics:
For me somatics is a form of care, a practice of unlearning and relearning, of being present in what arises. It is a practice that puts the body at the centre as a place of experiencing, processing and creating. 
Somatics is also a practice of slowing down - slowing down from the speed of everyday life, society and culture. Deceleration creates space, space to sense, to feel, to arrive, to listen and hear, to see and be seen, to show vulnerability, to question, to stir up, to resist, to dig up and dig around, to discover, uncover and cover up. To change perspective. To grow. 
Making and re-making connections. In the sensing and slowing down, space and time will emerge, to imagine, to crystallise, to try things out, to re-sort, to get involved, to recharge and release, to act, to move and be moved, to fantasise and speculate, to become active, to become critical and remain critical. To create.

Somatics is a practice of love - for oneself, for others and for the earth.

Since 2020 I'm again actively playing music as a Dj, mainly for Ecstatic Dance. Already in my early youth I had my first attempts behind the turntables. Between 2008-2015 I recorded and released various mixsets under the synonym 'beatcook / beatCuisine'.

Playing the handpan has been enriching my musical repertoire for more than three years and over time binaural beats, nature sounds and mantras have become part of my music.
