We’re super excited to kick off the first installment of the Basement Beats Mix Series with none other than Manchester-based producer, DJ, and LIGHTSPEED label boss Kalani. 

Kalani dives head-first into the sounds he knows and loves, delivering a seamless blend of influences and contrasting energies of heavier tracks with some ethereal cuts which makes for an unmissable listen. 

Super grateful for Kalani for stepping up with this 60 minute masterclass filled with dance floor-ready cuts floating between eras and genres. I’ve been an enormous fan of Kalani’s since I stumbled across his unique productions and soundscapes so very fortunate to have him on.

Kalani Basement Beats Mix [BBM001]

The second installment of our Basement Mix Series comes from none other than James Creano. I've been a massive fan of James page and his selections for ages, so when we launched this series, I knew we had to get him on board to showcase his extensive vinyl collection. True to form, he’s crafted over 90 minutes of 100% vinyl magic to glide you into the weekend. Huge thanks to James for putting this together, packed with absolute heaters from start to finish!

Introducing our next release on Basement Beats: an EP by Serbian-based Cosmic G, featuring the title track “General Strike” and the flip-side “Justice.” Influenced by the ongoing protests in Serbia, this project embodies a commitment to change and community support, with all profits being donated to student charities. 

Cosmic G showcases his exceptional talent for crafting deep, dark, bouncy, and futuristic soundscapes. Recognized for his work on Haws, Snippets, Vakum, Goddezz, Commatrax, BinarySound, and System 108. This release demonstrates his versatility as an artist, comprising two high-energy, perfectly crafted proggy tracks.

Jamie B is a record collector & DJ from the UK residing in Sydney, Australia. He's been collecting vinyl for over 3 decades with an eclectic range of influences including Punk, Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Disco, House, Techno & everything in between.

In the early 90’s, Jamie fell in love with the sounds of Electro, UK Bleep & Bass & Detroit Techno. Inspired by DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier & Jeff Mills, he began crafting his skills & playing gigs around London. Today his style favours Deep House, Techno & Electro sounds, with a strong focus on mixing things up & dropping curveballs to keep the dancefloor on its toes.
 
Alongside fellow crate digger, Raffi Irie Lovechild, Jamie hosts SOKA LOKA MOKI, a monthly night of eclectic sounds where you’ll hear the likes of Chaka Khan, Kraftwerk & Prince, rubbing shoulders with A Tribe Called Quest, Larry Heard & Moodymann.

Jamie is also a member of GOT MUSIC, a convergence of DJs & artists hosting regular events in Sydney exploring the deeper pockets of electronic music.

All DJ mixes are recorded live using 2X Technics 1200's & a Xone: 23 mixer.
