The Barefoot Adventures returns as I dive into Libya, a troubled but hugely historical country situated amongst the Sahara Desert. After speaking to some new friends from Libya, I began to learn of the complicated situation and history of this place. Within Libya there is little to no self-made pop music industry, but various kinds of Arab music are popular, such as Andalusi music, locally known as Ma'luf, Chabi, not to mention Arab classical music, and Libyan Reggae which came to the surface in the 90’s.

In the south the Tuareg (Berber) have their own distinctive folk music. They play a one-stringed violin called an anzad, as well as a variety of drums.
Two of the most famous musicians of Libya are Ahmed Fakroun and Mohammed Hassan.
Rhythmic clapping is also common in Libyan folk music.
Traveling Bedouin poet-singers have spread many popular songs across Libya. Among their styles is Huda, the camel driver's song, the rhythm of which is said to mimic the feet of a walking camel.

Originally from South England, music producer and collector Billy Caso has spend the last 10 years in Berlin building his path as an eclectic and open-genre artist through fields of electronica, psychedelic jazz, hip hop, modular synths and collage style mixes & beat-tapes.

As well founding open genre tape label and  listening event Pastiche International, Billy has performed Worldwide on various tours, hosted various radio shows and featured with regular shows on NTS Radio, Worldwide FM and Dublab. Through his psychedelic blend of genre mashing productions, mind-bending collage-style DJ sets, beat-tapes and musical features with the likes of Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Brandon Coleman, Fly Anakin and Nailah Hunter to name a few.
After a four year process, Billy's long awaited debut album ‘Planet Earth’ is complete and will be released very soon.

Ethereal Decibel Company

Cajun is a Swiss-English producer and DJ that is now based in France. Born into a family of musicians and artists, from a very young age he started experimenting with instruments and then electronic production, music quickly became the driving passion in his life. Over many years he explored the depths of melody, groove, and trance, crossing many styles and emotions, free from the restraints of genres and codes.

It was an entirely selfish endeavour, a primal need for creative expression through the medium of sound, almost exclusively for his ears alone. But in 2021, after more than 10 years of electronic music production he decided to focus his energy into creating a liveset to share with the dancefloor. This new branch of his music fell loosely into the Psytechno category, with a focus on intricate melodies, deep groovy basslines and hypnotic funky percussion and rhythms.
