Duration: 7’00". Created at historical Electronic Music Center of Columbia University, New York (now Computer Music Center, former Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center). Premiered at the EMC Tribute Concert at the Miller Theatre in 1995. Later digitally converted from analog tape in the studio of Shobi University. Digital version premiered at ZAIM in Yokohama in Media Project hosted by Tokyo Denki University in November 2007.

Impulse PPF

Born in Tokushima and now lives in Tokyo, Japan. MA (1996) & DMA (2000) from Columbia University. After completing BFA in piano at Osaka College of Music, she restarted her studies in music composition for ten years to come in the US, first to obtain BM from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (1993). She then moved to New York City for graduate studies, with Tristan Murail, Jonathan Kramer, Brad Garton, and Fred Lerdahl at the GSAS of Columbia University. She also participated in historical Fontainebleau Schools of Music and Fine Arts in France (1997) to study with Philippe Leroux and Betsy Jolas, and private lessons with Isao Matsushita in Japan. Her music displays the wide perspective of music making including Japanese/Asian traditional instruments and forefront music technologies which she had creative training at the Computer Music Center of Columbia University. She has been a member of the ICMA, the EMS, the JSCM, the JFC, the JCMPC, the JSSA, and the IRCAM Forum.
