Daddario debuts at Ragoo Records with the “Quinto Quarto” EP, a record that fuses beatmaking attitude with funk, disco and electro vibes. “Quinto Quarto”, which means entrails in Italian, is the result of a deep and meticulous musical research. From the broken funk of “Shift” to the heavy percussions of “Space Lou”, each track is full of grooves and details that showcase Daddario’s skills on the MPC as well as on synthesizers. The project is enriched by collaborations with percussionist JZP, guitarist Lorenzo Mantovani, bassist Michele Freguglia, trumpeter Matteo Pontegavelli, and two remixes from Astratto and The Mechanical Man.

Thrive - The Contortionist (String test)

Had this little idea, played out the initial idea to completion. Think it sounds cool and neat. The root descends and passes many octaves within the chord until resolving peacefully. I don't think this would work on an instrument with higher tunings. Lower frequency in the bass allows the close grouping of the notes to meld well. Tried to spic up the tone with some effects, used a grain delay, but in the end the EQ'd DI tone from the Darkglass A/O just sounded way too good to mess with. This is not JUST dry tone, of course I have reverb, chorus, delay (and grain delay), and a dirty tone mixed with this, hardly decipherable mixed together but add to the overall vibe.

Descending Purpose

Stemmed from a conversation with my girlfriend, so I took it upon myself to try and then totally let it collect digital dust. These are the sections I recorded, and I spliced together the most interesting and complete sections. It is a medley of sorts. As seen in playthroughs, they use a pitch shifter, which I do not have. But I still think it came across as convincing. Used the GGD Matt Halpern PV drum kit, and added some de-monotonouzing flare to the outro to add some spice and originality.
