Igor Botur - Lazy Monday IV

I recorded this 45 minute Mix on July 4th 2023, it features a bunch of track I love and I feel I mixed them in an interesting way that even surprised my self. It somehow tells a subconscious story about my mix of emotions over the past month. This mix was all recorded on the fly as I didn't have anything planned, I just hit recored and whatever came out came out so here it is. Danny Goliger has been steadily rising as one of the forefront bass & techno producers in L.A. for several years with releases on staple labels such as Dirtybird, Scuffed Recs, 3024 & Magic City alongside his residency on the renowned Dublab Radio. We are super excited to welcome him to the Faux Poly family with his stunning EP 'Say I Do.'

In Danny's own words: "Inspiration was pretty wide ranging on this EP. From UK funky, to dembow, to dubstep, post-dubstep, and garage. I've incorporated elements of these grooves and aesthetics into modern bassy club tracks."

The EP blends together two 4x4 rollers with "Say I Do" and "Weightless," alongside halftime bass led dubstep tracks "Gimme That" and "Pearls." All of these ideas were born out of modular hardware jams and delivered with Danny's distinctive ear for detail. The whole EP has already become a firm favourite within the Faux Poly family, and if you've seen any of us play this summer, then chances are you've been lucky enough to hear these on a big system already.

"I'm hoping with this record to capture the feeling of club experiences that are dark and moody, while also maintaining an ethereal lightness.Tunes that are bass-y and gritty in tone but not necessarily heavy and aggressive. Something meditative and maybe slightly introspective to keep people locked in."

After completing another whirlwind mission of fast-not-hard righteousness, the Fast At Work crew returned home to reunite around their first chosen matriarch, who arrived with a cherished friend of the family in tow. Ideating a standout and full circle return to the ethos contained in the original FAW alien disc, Carré embarked alongside Danny Goliger not with the intent to craft a particular “sound,” but driven by the pursuit of discovery. Navigating through textured atmospheres, rhythmic explorations, and immersive landscapes, they allowed their gospel to unfold naturally—an organic process shaped by curiosity and intuition.
Each track was born from sampling its predecessor, creating a recursive dialogue that guided the creative flow and speaks to the spirit of DIY collaboration always present in FAW mantra. A commitment to a tension-building groove in ‘Up Too Late’, the warped dub throughlines of ‘Tricky One’, the intricate, delicate uptempo delight that is ‘Exit Plan,’ and the bridge between all four tracks ‘Don’t Keep Me In Suspense’ — each reflect different moments in this heli-journey. An expert in textural exploration, Konduku brought out the true hypnotic potential of the title track. Their influences ripple outward, yet the sound remains inherently theirs—fluid, unbound by singular genre or label.

He’s the founder and curator of Evolve Audio in Boise, Idaho. A producer with over 16+ years of experience in electronic music and a DJ with a solid 6+ years of live mixing under his belt. Evan Williams also known as the artist Soul Velocity has been expanding into the musical consciousness. 

When it comes to Soul Velocity’s sound and mixing style it has be described as a seamless fusion of Tech House, Breaks, Minimal, and Electro. Attention to detail in the sound design and track selection is expertly done. Classic 808 and 909 drum machines span the mixes with intricate percussion rhythms.
