Larry Zanoff is the co-host of Hollywood Weapons: Fact or Fiction? on the Outdoor Channel, and has what many of us would consider a dream job, working in the Weapons Department of Independent Studio Services Props (ISS) , the largest rental armory in the film and Television industry, providing custom weapons manufacturing, actor training, on set armorer services, safety training, and more.

Larry has been involved with firearms his entire life. A combat veteran of the Israeli army, Larry is P.O.S.T. Certified, holds a college degree in law enforcement and the administration of justice, and has worked in U.S. Law enforcement, as well as the privet security industry. An additional college degree in gunsmithing and firearms technology led to Larry holding several positions in the firearms manufacturing industry.

The above life experience has led Larry to a position at ISS. Larry continues to be active outside the entertainment industry as well, by providing weapons training to the military, and various government, and law enforcement agencies.

He is an NRA & USCCA Firearms Instructor, USCCA Training Counselor and the co-founder of the Swanson Training Group located just outside Jacksonville, FL. Trampas is a former Deputy Sheriff in which he served as a SWAT sniper, as well as patrol supervisor, narcotics and investigations experience for almost 12 years before taking early retirement.

A father of two young daughters, Trampas and his wife, Candace (also an NRA & USCCA Instructor) volunteer their free time to the national not for profit organization, The Well Armed Woman both nationally and their home State of Florida in Feb of 2013. They now assist over 700 ladies statewide.

1) You were our very first guest on GFR, and much has happened in the past ten years since we first met. But, one thing hasn’t changed, and that is that you have been Serving others your entire life. From your time in the Military, law enforcement, 2A Advocacy, and now your wife in her time of health needs. What drives you to show up in all of these roles?
2) Your wife is still recovering from a brain tumor. Your retirement years have not worked out the way you planned. Yet, you write a book about joy. Tell us about that. 
3) One of the chapters in your book is called “A Preacher and a Rabbi”. In a time when some are trying to sew division based on every conceivable metric – race, class, religion, political ideology, etc – you two found an amazing connection and friendship. What was your common bond?
